Based on his experience with type 2 diabetes, Toma has written an important book about controlling blood glucose with diet.

Among other things in this 172 page book are;
  • By far the most complete directory of sweeteners
  • Emphasis on the value of omega 3 and what type of omega 3 we need
  • The glycemic index and its value for people with diabetes
  • A list of low glycemic foods
  • Emphasis on low sodium and the sodium potassium balance
  • Discussion of the protein-carbohydrate-fat ratio and how to balance it
  • The difference between the good fats and the bad fats
  • The foods that help lower blood glucose

Toma tells his personal story about dealing with type 2 diabetes. When he was diagnosed he had extremely bad labs and was close to death. He shares the information that helped him restore his health and achieve normal labs, get off medications, and maintain normal blood glucose readings and normal A1C with diet without medications.

I have been writing about diabetes for more than 12 years. I have written hundreds of magazine and on-line articles, columns, blog entries, and Web pages about diabetes. But I even learned a few things from this book. And reading his book has inspired me to resume taking omega 3 regularly.

Learn the SECRETS of controlling Type 2 Diabetes !!

Why are they secrets and why should I care?

Diabetes is a major cause of disability and of premature death. It is:

  • A major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases (heart attack, stroke).
  • The most common single cause of kidney failure requiring dialysis treatment
  • The most common cause of blindness in people less than 60 years of age
  • The most common non-traumatic cause of limb amputation

Type 2 or non-insulin-dependent diabetes, previously called adult or maturity-onset diabetes, is due to defective metabolism of glucose by the body's tissues, with resistance of the tissues to the effects of insulin and a relative deficiency of insulin. The exact cause of type 2 diabetes is unknown, although there is a strong genetic component which is unmasked by lifestyle factors such as eating behavior, obesity and inactivity which precipitate the disease. Type 2 diabetes accounts for 85-90% of all diabetes and the number of cases is increasing rapidly in both developed and developing countries. In Australia, there has been a 300% increase in the number of people with type 2 diabetes in the last 20 years!! (source: the Diabetes Research Consultative Committee by Len Harrison, Kerin O'Dea and Paul Zimmet.)

Similar statistics are coming in world wide.

Finally! An easy to understand book for controlling type 2 diabetes by a diabetic that truly understands the issues and is getting good results himself.

In the US. the prevalence of diagnosed cases of diabetes was less than 1%. By the mid 80s the percentage of diagnosed diabetics had risen to 3% and by 2007 it had reached 7%. The prevalence of diabetes is expected to reach 14% in the near future.

According to the Australian Diabetes Society 80% of type 2 diabetics can be controlled by diet and lifestyle changes. Why is the American Diabetes Association mysteriously quiet about this statistic? Is it because their Board of Directors is dominated by drug companies and food companies?

One source claims there are 73.3 million people currently at risk for type 2 diabetes just in the U.S.

Toma found out Type 2 Diabetes can be controlled with diet and wants to share what he has learned with you.

From: Toma Grubb:

Dear Friend,

Imagine how many more people across North America and the world can benefit from just knowing how to eat better.

Just think how many kids, grandkids, and great grandkids would love to see us avoid an early death from something that can be avoided.

I had to learn these secrets for my personal use. Now I want to share them with you. There is good news and bad news.

Let me give you the bad news first….

It’s harder than ever to get the right information about eating properly.

I was shocked and dismayed to find out my medical team was not giving me the best information available!!! Mostly they just wanted to medicate me. I had to spend thousands of hours to find what is working for me. I have above average intelligence. If it was that hard for me how many people may never find it. That's why I call them secrets. Not because there is not good scientific backing for the secrets but because someone, for probably profit motives, do not want you to find them.

We are in a health care crisis because of the rapidly increasing number of people being diagnosed with diseases that can be delayed, controlled or completely avoided just by eating right. The Minister of Health for British Columbia in Canada said Diabetes is costing the province $700,000,000.00 a year. He further stated that proper diet and lifestyle could substantially reduce that cost. The same shocking statistics are coming in from around the world.

So why are food guidelines like the USDA Food Pyramid, Canada's Guide to healthy eating and similar government guidelines not science based instead of prompted by commercial interest from food manufacturers? In fact, why are food companies not more interested in providing healthy foods instead of profits? This is what Dr. Yoni Freedoff had to say about Canada's food Guide:

Canada' Food Guide to unhealthy eating.

canada food guide to unhealthy eating"Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating is an oxymoron.

Everything the Food Guide should be - an evidence-based, easy to understand and implement guide to lead Canadians to follow a pattern of eating that will minimize their risk of developing chronic diseases (including obesity) - it isn't. What's worse is that the proposed revision to the Food Guide, which as we speak is ready for it's release on an unsuspecting public, is still horribly flawed."

Source:http://bmimedical.blogspot.com/2006/11/canadas-food-guide-to-unhealthy-eating.html

You can easily find similar criticisms of The US Food Pyramid and most other common food guides. They are developed to satisfy food manufacturer's lobbys instead of the best science.

Have you ever felt if you could just find out what they mean by proper diet you would follow it, you would finally get the health you deserve? Now you’re finally going to get that chance.

I know from personal experience if a proper diet is followed, health can be restored. When I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes I also had acid reflux, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and a few other things. just from eating right I no longer take drugs for any of the conditions I was diagnosed with. The possibilities are endless – but only if you know the secrets.

Here’s the good news: If you’re serious about getting healthier, I have an opportunity for you that could quite literally change your life for the better. I’m going to offer you something you would spend hundreds if not thousands of hours and dollars finding for yourself: the chance to learn from my experience. The picture above is me with an actual blood glucose reading. I want to teach you how you can get similar results.

Inez CarneyI was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and being treated by Kaiser Permenente. My Diabetes was getting worse and my toes were turning purple from neuropathy. In July of 2005 I saw the results of how Toma was controlling his type 2 Diabetes and asked for help. He showed me how to change my eating habits and made suggestions for reversing the neuropathy. My blood glucose is now well controlled, the neuropathy in my feet has been reversed and my toes are now a healthy pink.

Do you believe any of these common myths?

1) “The best way to control type 2 diabetes is with medication”

2) “My doctor knows what is best for me and is giving me the best advice, after all he is an expert in treating type 2 diabetes..”

3) “All carbohydrates are the same”

4) “I only need to make small easy changes to to control my type 2 diabetes”

5) “The food companies will only make healthy nutritious foods”

6) “I can believe the food companies ads about their foods being healthy nutritious foods”

7) “the ADA is giving the most current and best advice for controlling type 2 diabetes.”

These are just a few of the myths that just ‘aint so anymore. But when you purchase my "Toma's Diabetic Diet, A layman's Guide to Controlling Blood Glucose with Diet", you’ll learn the insider secrets to getting healthy blood glucose readings. Most people are following old, worn-out advice which is doomed to cost them a lot of time, money, and increased health risks and get them nowhere.

Things have changed. And a lot of the old ways of controlling blood glucose just don’t work any more.

Data from the largest diabetes study of its kind in Canada
show that one in two
people with type 2 diabetes
does not have their blood sugar under control.

Moreover, the majority of patients have serious associated health conditions and complications,
such as heart disease, stroke, kidney and eye disease. The Diabetes In Canada Evaluation (DICE) study
also demonstrates that the prevalence of these diabetes-associated co-morbidities and complications is
greater the longer a person has the disease. This "disease burden" makes type 2 diabetes extremely challenging
to manage. The study results were made public and WERE published in the October 2005 issue of
Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice.

The Australian Diabetes Society says 80% of type 2 diabetics can be controlled by diet and lifestyle changes. Why is the American Diabetes Association mysteriously quiet about this statistic? Is it because their Board of Directors is dominated by drug companies and food companies? Who is responsible for 50% of Diabetics being poorly controlled? Is it the fault of the patients or the system?

Let me ask you a question:

How many people do you know who are poorly controlled diabetics or are at high risk?

Just in North America the number is believed to be 73.3 million people or about 1 in 5.

This ebook holds the key to ending misery for most of these people. Not to mention the savings in personal cost for treating diabetes, The reduced burden on the health care systems of the world, and a lower impact on the resources of this planet.

Toma,

Please feel free to post this thread for all to read and maybe benefit.

Definitely secrets. Or rather not common knowledge.
Thanks for the info. Very informative!

I was diagnosed type 2 diabetic 6 months ago. There has been a very steep learning curve to learn how to control it and your ebook, website and phone conversations have been very helpful and enlightening.

I did not realize you could make your own flour. Some of the other tips you have passed on have also been very helpful. This ebook and the links to your website makes learning what to do to control type 2 diabetes much easier. My Doctor and diabetic trainer did not give me enough time or information to really find out what I needed to do. I found your site from David Mendosa’s site. Then you sent me the ebook which was very clear and informative.

I have been feeling I have a lot to learn/understand about grains and
lentils. I feel my knowledge is at a high school level and there are several
more steps.

If someone had told me I would be eating 4 bean salad and liking it a year
ago I would have said they were crazy. My next step is to get a slow cooker
and steamer.

I have started using the diet software. Still in the very initial stage. It
will take a while to save all the various meals. I can see how it is going to make my meal selection and planning much easier.

Wife overcomes her skepticism about husband controlling diabetes with diet.

Laurie Grubb tells about husband learning to control type 2 diabetes with diet.In February of 2005, Toma was very ill. Over the period of about 3 months he had gone from achy, feeling flu like symptoms to almost 18 hours a day in bed. He was thirsty continuously and was drinking just about anything he could get his hands on, making frequent trips to the bathroom all through the day and night. Toma didn’t at that time have any medical coverage in Canada and refused to go to the doctor, thinking it was just flu and it would run it’s coarse. Finally I convinced him to go to the drop in clinic to get checked. After a short examination and some blood work done we returned home. The next morning the doctor called and said he wanted to see Toma back in his office right away. During that visit the physician told Toma that he needed to be in the hospital that his glucose readings were dangerously high. Not wanting to pay ridiculously high hospital bills the decision was made to make the trip down to Seattle where Toma has medical coverage. Toma asked the doctor how soon he needed to go into hospital and the physician replied right now and not to drive down himself but to take the bus seeing I was not able to go with him for work reasons. After arriving in Seattle at the VA hospital it was determined that Toma was in renal failure and his organs were already starting to shut down as a result of his blood glucose levels. Neither Toma , or myself realized how bad he actually was, much longer untreated, he would have died. After a two-week stay in the hospital Toma was released with a backpack full of medications.

Several months passed as Toma started to learn about the effects of foods and how certain foods could help him control his diabetes. Yes at first I was very skeptical that he was going to be able to make changes let alone changes that were going to take him off all medications but with a lot of, dedication, control and researching of what he puts in his mouth he has been very successful in doing exactly that, “Completely controlled with Diet.”

I'm sure you'll love my Toma's Diabetic diet - A Layman's Guide To Controlling Blood Glucose With Diet and the trial Version of NutriBase 7 Personal Plus.

I am not selling this ebook for a personal profit motive. Any money made from it will go back to reaching and helping more people. There are only two reasons there is a price on it.

  • A price is required to sell the book through lulu.com and to pay the affiliates who advertise the ebook on their sites.
  • Something given for free is not perceived to have value. People pay more attention to what they have invested in. The information in this ebook is priceless.

So, don’t delay. Nothing bothers me more than having to hear about people who's damage from the complications of diabetes is irreversible simply because they waited too long to learn how to control it. I had two aunts die slow painful deaths because I was too late learning to be able to help them. They died before I was diagnosed.
