Print: $25.00 This catalog features the work of artist Renee van der Stelt, winner of the Target Gallery’s 2009 Open Exhibition. A large portion of the art work is from the artist’s recent residency with the prestigious Roswell Artist in Residence Program in New Mexico. The catalog includes a critical essay by acclaimed art historian, writer/editor, and curator - Kathryn M Davis, who became familiar with Renee van der Stelt’s work during her residency.
Much of the work in the catalog will be on exhibit in the Torpedo Factory Art Center’s Target Gallery from 10.28-11.29.09. The Target Gallery’s Open Exhibition is an annual call for proposals for a chance at a solo exhibition in the gallery. The winner is decided on by a panel of three jurors; this year’s panel included Philippa P.B. Hughes, Founder of the Pinkline Project and avid art collector; Lia Newman, Director of Exhibitions and Programs with Artspace in Raleigh, NC; and Paul So, Founder of Hamiltonian Artists and Gallery in Washington, DC.
