Wohl’s new book on the SaaS market is now available.  It is both an overview of the SaaS market and a series of recommendations for ISVs, platform vendors, and customers who want to participate in it. The centerpiece of the book is 22 interviews Amy conducted with these market participants, illustrating the state of the SaaS market and its direction. Published: October 2008.

Amy D. Wohl has been commenting on, consulting to, and writing about the computer industry for more than 30 years.  She is the editor of Amy D. Wohl’s Opinions, a blog which focuses on emerging technologies and a new blog on SaaS.  Her consulting practice focuses on emerging technologies and concepts and the markets they create.  She helps vendors explore these opportunities, often defining the terms of new markets in the process, and assisting in planning marketing and positioning efforts.  She teaches a graduate course on commercializing new technology at the University of Pennsylvania.  Current interests include SOA, SaaS, Linux, enterprise software, and new technologies for office work such as social software and open source.
