Andy Evans is a teacher living and working on Humberside in England. He originally hails from South Wales and is fiercely proud of his Welsh roots! He has been writing for over a decade producing scripts for theatrical performance and for film and television. First published in the UK in 1999 and later in the USA in 2001, Andy's plays have been performed internationally and have gained a number of awards. His stage play "Invisible to the Eye" was adapted for TV and was broadcast locally and two monologues "Love Hearts" and "No Time To Say Goodbye" have been filmed as short films by Soilant Green Productions. Andy's work available through lulu.com is a record of his unpublished writing between 1997 and 2007. Much of the work remains unperformed or only performed once or twice on Humberside but he felt it was good to put it out there for a wider audience and this offers the chance to do just that. He hopes that by making his writing available others will consider doing likewise and let the public read their work, perhaps for the first time. This writing is published purely for pleasure and not for profit.

Scaring Little Children

Scaring Little ChildrenScaring Little Children (book)

Print: $3.26

Published playwright Andy Evans describes a private project he set for himself in the summer of 2006 to devise and script two children's television shows. With no knowledge of HOW to write a script for children's TV he devised two shows, "The Phantom Base" and "Children of the Night". Both shows are devised as scary supernatural stories for young teens hence the title of this work. He includes his notes and the scripts as written in order to encourage other writers to spread their wings in their writing. In Andy's opinion writers write because they must. Andy has never believed in writing being kept in a bottom drawer and is using "Scaring Little Children" as a means to bring some of his writing to a wider audience and to inspire others to give writing a go too. "If I can do it anyone can" - Andy Evans

This book is a collection of work by playwright Andy Evans. It collects together a number of pieces of writing from stage to screen. Three of the featured scripts have been turned into low-budget independent films and a number have been performed on stage. The volume concludes with two speculative scripts for children's television based on ideas developed by Andy himself. Most writing has its routes in youth theatre which for ten years was Andy' passion as the voluntary Director of the award-winning Caxton Youth Theatre in Grimsby.
