In depth study of the arousal gained from getting wet while still partly or fully dressed. The essay looks at the kind of people who find such activity a turn on, and how wetlook has influenced history and popular culture. I look at the criticisms levelled at wetlook enthusiasts, the kind of clothing they like best, (and like least), and explore how the fetish has grown in the age of the internet.

These adults only stories are often tinged with the influence of dark sardonic humour and carry a strange eeriness. Feathered Serpents of the Sea has been showcased in the ERWA Writer’s galleries. Other stories appear in public for the first time ever. Enjoy. In Feathered Serpents Of The Sea, a shipwreck survivor finds herself on a raft of snakes with a naked Aztec Fertility god. She finds out too late that making love to him will begin events that could lead to the end of the World. In Gorgon-Stone, a visitor to an art-gallery accepts a strange and fatal challenge concerning a beautiful woman. Confession tells of a priest who gets too turned on by the salacious tales of adultery and fornication he hears in the confession box. The girls of the Hipgloss rock band are making a video that involves them swimming around in a pool in sexy clothes, and they realize that it is softcore porno entertainment for the video producer. I’ll let the other stories introduce themselves.

This is my third collection of poems. My poems have appeared in magazines and books for many years. A list is online at my website http://arthurchappell.me.uk/index.htm This collection presents completely fresh material. Here are poems about the nightmare that is a late night bus ride through South Manchester, (Slow Bus To Stockport), a less realistic horror story in verse, Doctor Of The Night, tells of a hospital where the patients are already dead, or at best, undead. Wetlook offers a complete contrast, as a man gets his sexual desires fulfilled in the bathtub. That poem, and a few others are just for grown ups, but Toothache and Day Trip could be read to younger audiences. The toughest poem to write was No Drop Of E, about what happens when the most popular letter of the alphabet goes missing. Trying to write the first half of that without the E was a real pain. I hope reading it is by contrast, a real pleasure for you.

DANGER! VAMPIRE INFESTED QUICKSAND!

DANGER! VAMPIRE INFESTED QUICKSAND!DANGER! VAMPIRE INFESTED QUICKSAND! (book)

Print: $15.15

Download: $5.98

Strange title for a horror, science fiction and fantasy collection, Some but not all of the stories involve quicksand, and others involve vampires. One Fresh Dead Flesh, has both, sort of. Some of the stories are funny, such as Remote, with its TV Remote Control search robot that trashes two houses in its quest, and Found, which takes lost airport luggage queries into the space travel era. Time travel is another recurrent theme, with one man murdered and resurrected by a passing time traveller in Busy Doing Nothing. In The Man Who Changed History, a time traveller tries to change the course of the English Civil War. Some other stories here also use that conflict as a backdrop. Elsewhere, telepathy drives a man insane, two travellers start climbing Everest only to find that they get stuck on top like kids climbing a tree and then getting vertigo, and a new Smart Bomb asks passers by for directions to its target. So, read on, but watch out for that Vampire Infested Quicksand, won’t you?

A complete, comprehensive study of poetry slams, their origins, and how they are organized, the strict American competitive systems, and the more relaxed British approach. This book is ideal for poets and poetry fans alike. The book analyses the conflict between performance poets and those who think verse is strictly for the written page. Finally, just for fun, I ask what Shakespeare might have thought of poetry slams and whether or not he could win one. Arthur Chappell.

ATHEIST ESSAYS!

ATHEIST ESSAYS!ATHEIST ESSAYS! (book)

Print: $16.73

This is the first time my many atheistic essays have been gathered into a single volume. Taken collectively, the book amounts to a comprehensive look at the philosophy and practice of atheism. Some of my papers summarize excellent talks given by guest speakers at Humanist meetings. Enjoying life to the full while we can is central to my own Humanistic principals, but we must never neglect the needs of others. There are controversial essays here too, such as those on the death of Princess Diana, and my clash with the cult of Siloism, which itself claims to be a Humanism society. Some of my articles gained unexpected but welcome media attention, such as the Freemasonry feature. Many illustrious figures get a great deal of attention here; Alan Turing, Charles Darwin, and Thomas Paine among them. I hope that what follows will entertain and inform you of the range and scope of what it can mean not to believe in God. There is a list of books and websites for further study at the end of the collection.
