SANTA BARBARA, CA— While most people would believe that adversity is not a good thing, Tom Ray’s new book Accepting Adversity from God offers a different viewpoint: maybe God has a good reason for allowing bad things to happen. The author, who is a Christian, views the book as a byproduct of over twenty years of seeking to understand God’s hand in allowing trials.
Ray believes that both believers and unbelievers often have mistaken ideas about the character and purpose of God, making it difficult to trust God when they need Him most. Accepting Adversity from God is a book that reveals the truth about God’s loving role in allowing bad things to impact His creation. “The Bible has a lot to say about the issue of adversity, and God’s role in allowing it,” Ray says, “but most people are only half-listening because their main focus is on God’s promises.” However, Ray believes that adversity is a promise from God and his book Accepting Adversity from God is a positive way to view this aspect of the Christian experience. Tom Ray is a Certified Professional Photographer and the author of trade articles for photographers. He lives with his wife and three children in Santa Barbara, CA. |
