William T. Ayton is a US-based British artist whose work deals with mythology, sociopolitical issues and the struggles between light and dark in the human psyche.
His works have been widely exhibited and various pieces have been reproduced in the New York Times, The Wilson Quarterly, Direct Art Magazine, Terra Nova, and many other publications.
His major works include The War Room (see portfolio, below). He also painted a series of 30 paintings on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a series on the Holocaust, and many other works on mythological, imaginary and socially-oriented themes.

The War Room is a monochrome artwork, inspired by the covering up of a tapestry of Picasso's Guernica by Colin Powell at the UN (February, 2003). The installation surrounds the viewer with the four faces of war: Warriors, Victims, Witnesses, and Aftermath. This 24-page portfolio presents many images from the piece, with studies & related works. Five related paintings are reproduced in full-color.
