A GREAT BATTLE IN THE ECCLESIASTICAL HEAVENS

A GREAT BATTLE IN THE ECCLESIASTICAL HEAVENSA GREAT BATTLE IN THE ECCLESIASTICAL HEAVENS (book)

Print: $29.96

Shortly before Charles Russell died, he found himself and his organization caught up in a web of criticism regarding both his personal life and his professional one as a spiritual leader. He turned to his friend and attorney, Joseph Rutherford to assist him in refuting these allegations. There were numerous newspaper articles that accused Pastor Russell of using the money donated to the organization for his personal use, of being a divorced man, of not paying his wife alimony, of charging his followers huge rates for what was termed Miracle Wheat, as being a pedophile with regards to a young orphan girl that came into the care of he and his wife, as well as a myriad of other charges. Rutherford realized that in order to protect the integrity of the organization and to assure its future growth he would have to defend Pastor Russell's reputation against these charges and in this book, he does so in an admirable way. He takes all the points of criticism hurled at Pastor Russell and one by one refutes them.

HARVEST SIFTINGS

HARVEST SIFTINGS was written by Joseph Franklin Rutherford in 1917. This book was authored by J.F. Rutherford during the period of factional infighting following Russell’s death. Opposed by a majority of the Society’s board of directors, Rutherford spared no weapon in his struggle for control of the organization. As a lawyer he skillfully unseated the directors Russell had appointed for life, and as a communicator he destroyed them in the eyes of his readers. This is a fascinating piece of Watchtower history.

One Tyrian survivor is found and rescued by a people known as the Tsinim who come from the West. The Phoenicians become interested in this new civilization because they possess a secret of sailing without using the heavenly bodies as guides. A foreign infant is found upon a shipwreck near the shores of the Atlantean empire. The baby girl is adopted by the King and he names her Atla. The child's complexion is fair and white which is uncommon among the populace of dark colored inhabitants. Atla is raised alongside the King's real daughter who is called Astera.
