Papyrus Nugator I & II
Second edition [v2.1] It includes I: "Hungarian Childhood"; II: "Father". Text in both by Emoke B'Racz, music by Istvan Peter B'Racz, cover by Piroska Gibson. Bonus Third Track: Soundtrack from the short film "He was a Poet" by Mark Saba. Ethereal "prepared trumpet" exquisitely performed by classical trumpeter Joseph Drew. In "Hungarian Childhood" I used my sister Emoke's spoken words as the MAIN origin of sound generation, with a few exceptions. "Father" is about Istvan B'Racz, Sr. who endured unbelievable evil due to unfortunate political circumstances."He was a Poet..." A poet dies, and gets buried in a tree. Then a tree company cuts it down and makes furniture. There is no dialog, and only a few words are shown in the film- the rest are images and sounds in slow shifting dreamy scenes. Izzy the Frog in Lumina Land
[CD AUDIO-HIGH QUALITY, one track, ca. 45 min.] Surreal single-movement sound-design-work that was originally created for the pre-show music in a show called "Terra Lumina". I recorded the sounds of the show's set being built, the quarry-sounds all around, and there were these wonderful frogs chirping away. I created this work by doing a live 8-channel performance/mix onto an ADAT, so you are actually hearing a "live" performance. Every night before the show, we had to "fog" the area, because of the unbearable number of mosquitos and gnats. The frogs would then gorge themselves on these easy treats, and then (I'm convinced) hallucinate during the show. They would often sing loudly during various moments with lights and lasers. So this is an homage to those wonderful bug-juice-addicted frogs, and my favorite frog, Izzy. I created a frog-myth, and Izzy, for this pre-show music which became its own world. For a COMPLETE PREVIEW, go HERE
