About the Author-Bree T. Donovan is an educator, social service provider and the author of several short works of fiction who lives in Oaklyn, New Jersey. She knows first hand the importance of Pre's imperative to never give up in the pursuit of ones dreams. It is because of Pre's amazing life and spirit that Bree now has the passion to write and share the message of the Gift with children of all ages.

About the Author-Linda Prefontaine is an accomplished athlete in her own right as a well-respected tennis and racquetball player. Steve’s younger sister makes her home in Eugene Oregon. Linda manages her own company, Prefontaine Productions which is committed to what she calls, “Pieces of Pre” bringing the story of her brother to both the old and new generation of fans. Linda has generously given many hours of her time as a consultant and fact checker for this project.

About the Illustrator- Sara Charme`-Zane is a senior at Germantown Friends School. Sara has been visually rendering the world around her since the age of three. From ceramics and mosaics to drawing and painting, Sara's work mostly deals with people, exploring everything about their beautiful selves and their interactions with the artist, each other, and the greater world around them. She is also fascinated by the relationships that can be built between words and images. Living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her family, Sara belongs to one evil cat and her awesome younger sister, Tali.

This very special CD contains a unique interpretation of the Elton John classic in honor of Pre as performed by ChildrenSong of New Jersey. ChildrenSong is a choral music education and performance program based in Haddonfield, New Jersey. The Concert Choir devoted much of the summer of 2007 to rehearsals and the recording of the specially arranged song. The young singers are proud that their efforts will go towards helping their peers in Oregon. The CD also contains the narration of the first chapter of the book; Steve Prefontaine Rocketman as read by Pre’s life long friend, Jim Seyler. The combination of children's voices joyfully raised in song and the heartfelt, honest rendition of the chapter by Mr. Seyler make this CD a must for every Pre fan. *All royalties for the CD and book will go to a fund for arts and physical education programs to benefit Pre’s former elementary school, Blossom Gulch in Coos Bay, Oregon.
