Print: $26.36 As an artist and sculptor, I have sketched carved, shaped and modeled kisses obsessively and by the hundreds, striving to unveil their fluctuating forms, to capture the essence of their structure. In this process I followed a similar path to that of Mondrian in his famous series of trees, which mark the master’s passage from realism to abstraction. I began by experimenting with the full three-dimensional form of the kiss and gradually attained the ultimate synthesis, discovering to my astonishment that two heads, crossed while their lips are kissing, are in fact two opposite planes that meet in a point: the mouth.
The intersection of two such planes in space is visually represented by the letter X,like the cross: an encounter of two co-ordinates: time and space, but with a small twist, becoming an X.
X is the synthesis of a kiss, X is enigma, the unknown, the beginning of an equation, one of the co-ordinates, the chromosome, the universal
the multiplication, ten, it has no language….silent, love?
