I've always loved my pets, but have never written a book about any of them before. Putting together these children's books in the last few months has been fun and interesting. What prompted me to take pictures of Miss Myrtie and put together picture books are the facts that she is getting older and that my great-nieces and great-nephews are at the age where they enjoy picture books. What is fun is that she seems to really enjoy being a model. She recognizes the phrase "taking pretty pictures". I pay her with little pieces of chicken jerky and she thinks it is the most fun game in town. It's getting where she perks up when I get out the camera. We keep these sessions to no more than about fifteen minutes. Myrtie models for greeting cards, t-shirts, and mugs available on Zazzle at zazzle.com/myrtieshuman*.

The Little Cat Who Wanted to be a Big Dog

The Little Cat Who Wanted to be a Big DogThe Little Cat Who Wanted to be a Big Dog (book)

I am sincere in saying that I think this is a true story, as observed by the interaction between my pets. Mindy, the little cat, would get disgusted with her big feline companion who took her food and teased her. She would watch our big dog, Miss Myrtie, and act as though she thought that she would love to be a big dog, set the other cat straight, and put fear in the hearts of many. She actually followed Myrtie around and tried to eat her food. The pets are real and the photos are real. I hope children enjoy the book and pictures, and believe their parents will find it very amusing as well.

This is a picture book about my dog, Miss Myrtie. Myrtie is so cute and unique that people are always stopping me to ask about her, including adults and parents who have children asking to pet her. Children love her. Also, children seem to particularly enjoy actual photos of pets, so I hope that they enjoy this picture book that describes Miss Myrtie's day.

It is surprising how many people don't realize that their dog's normal body temperature is higher than ours and that they can't sweat. This free flyer is intended to alert people to the dangers of dogs overheating.
