Heute erfuhr ich das mein Lehrer und Freund der Philosophie Herr Dr. Joachim Koch am 17. September 2008 in Köln an einem Krebsleiden verstorben ist. Ich werde die Zeit welche mir noch bleibt nicht vergessen was ich meinen werten Freund und Lehrer zu verdanken habe. Mein tiefes Mitleid ergeht auch an seine Gattin und den beiden kleinen Kindern.

Lieber Heinz Duthel,

wie mir scheint, ist es doch nicht die Eifel geworden. Also nichts mit unserer Nachbarschaft. Dabei lebe ich seit einem Monat in Köln. Ist gut hier, aber der Start sehr befremdlich. Mitte Mai teilten mir in Folge einer Operation die Ärzte mit, dass ich Krebs habe. Seither versuche ich, den rechten naturheilkundlichen Weg zu finden, der mir auch ohne Chemo- und Strahlentherapie ein (Über)Leben ermöglicht. Ängste und Zweifel begleiten mich.

Da taten Ihre liebevollen und lobenden Worte stets gut.

I leave the writing of this book; it is with considerable apprehension, however.

No one who looks at the state of the world could feel otherwise.

The frequency of war, the continue election by ignorant citizens of doves and hawks worldwide and the treat of a greater war conducted with nuclear weapons is frightening and a challenge to the future of the human species.

Perhaps we do not deserve to survive, but in any case if we do not we will have been the engineers of our own destruction.

Peace with liberty is not a product of absolute pacifism. It is only a way of achieving peace at any price, and the price might well be subservience to a country, which does not practice pacifism.
I am afraid of the disastrous social effect of those idealists who know very well where they want us to go, but do not know how to get us there.
