For the first time in its history the United States of America is invaded and the country has no armies, technologies, or communications to counter. Medieval warfare strikes a nation that no longer has the means to fight such battles, and with the majority of America's soldiers fighting overseas in Iraq, the nation's citizenship is exposed to wanton slaughter against a trained and deadly foe. In the winter 2009, political conspiracy led by the powerful Majority Leader, Senator Jefferson Ash endeavors to finish the war in Iraq and garner their oil supplies for personal enrichment. He along with other members of congress secretly test a weapon that could revolutionize modern warfare without the consent of the nations leader. The preceding cataclysmic event turns the modern world inside out, and plunges the earth into unimaginable chaos. Imagine you and your family enjoying a mild winter day as you shop and look forward to the quickly approaching holidays. Unaware to you, your government is testing a weapon in the cold tundra of the Alaskan wilderness. The test is an utter failure, and it results in a wave that sweeps over the entire earth. You are driving in your car, miles from home as this wave of shimmering air courses through every vein and muscle in your body. Your car stops violently as you and your children are jerked forward. Everyone else sharing the road with you experiences the same, and you all exit your vehicles and look around bewildered. You watch in horror as aircraft start falling from the skies, and then a bitterly cold wind rips at your skin. You grab your children and scramble to the nearest structure for safety, and pray to the heavens to see you through. This is only the beginning of the horror that faces Earth 2010. The test of the Pulse goes haywire, plunging the Earth into technological abyss. In its wake it unlocks an ancient peoples trapped away for its evil and deception. The ancient's of the west were locked away for a reason. With the disruption of the earth's equilibrium, they break free of their magical bonds and reemerge on a cotenant that has been drastically altered by the race that was instrumental in their imprisonment, Humanity. Ancient magic replaces technology, and forgotten myths are revived. Will it be enough to save the human race? Or will Twenty Ten be the end?

What a nice story. With all the craziness in today’s world, Earth 2010 helps bring the important things in life to the forefront. It makes you laugh, cry, scream out in anger, and hug your neighbor. What if? Is the general theme, and the story surely makes you wonder.

TAX is killing the American dream

V.A. Pesce in VA Pesce's Blog

Some say that our politicians are in the same neighborhood in their thoughts as our founding fathers. I don't know if I would go so far as say, "they are in the same neighborhood". However, they are still Americans - which is a very good thing. But, they are far too removed from the lives of the ordinary person to be considered neighborly.

You have to remember that the primary reason our nation’s founders went to war was due to increasing monarchy taxation. Our founders felt that the tax burden was stifling colonial-mans ability to make a better life for themselves and their families. Their thinking was - why should they bust their backs to make the monarchy wealthier? The original taxation guidelines that our founders initiated for our nation states:

"No captivation or other direct tax shall be laid, unless in proportion to the census or enumeration herein before directed to be taken". (Meaning that they cannot tax citizens without a citizen census being taken first.)

This law held for 201 years until our modern politicians felt they knew better than our founders did. Coincidently, it is roughly around this timeframe that government spending sharply increased along with our nation’s debt. In 1977, our modern day politicians instituted the following amendment.

1977 Amendment XVI "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration". (Meaning that they could care less what the citizens think if they want to tax us, they can and there is not a darn thing we can do about it.)

Unbelievably, we are at the same crossroad today that our founders faced in our nations beginning. On average, 43% of our income earnings go into government coffers today. The average person is barely staying even - let alone even thinking of moving to a better position in life. Our founders knew that excessive taxation was stifling a person’s ability to achieve their dreams, and this fact was very bad for the dream they had for our nation. It is up to us citizens, united under one voice, to bring this faded dream back into focus.

Slavery – It’s Economic in Today’s World

V.A. Pesce in VA Pesce's Blog
Monday 12 of December, 2005
Slavery has taken a new dimension in our country. People are no longer owned and driven to perform tasks for no pay. Today, slavery is to our governments, with very little chance of ever breaking the financial bondage.

On average, Americans now spend more time working to pay their taxes than they spend working to provide food, clothing, and shelter combined. According to the Tax Foundation, the typical middle-income taxpayer in 2003 had to work until April 19 just cover their federal and state income taxes. That’s almost a third of the year, 109 days, or 2 hours and 23 minutes of each eight hours in earnings. Now add on your local taxation fees and your homeowner tax. Each American is working almost half a year just to pay their annual tax burden. Close to half of your 8 hour, workday is going directly to pay your tax requirements. In comparison, in 1930, it only took 30 seconds of an individuals daily work time to cover their tax burden.

Many people discuss the “good ’ol days” of American life, and how today’s generation has it tougher than our Grandparents did. If you look at old unplanned pictures of the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s, the people going to work have smiles on their faces. I commute everyday, and you rarely see people smiling. Work is no longer a pleasure, but a necessity to survive. Losing your job in today’s market is a virtual death sentence for you and your family’s way of life. The burden on the “providers” is staggering.

These daily pressures are surely being noticed and absorbed by our children. Youth crime is skyrocketing. Drug use is still very prevalent in our youth, and moving toward the harder “mind altering” substances. Violence and violent actions are getting more severe in our younger generation. Our children are angry, nervous and stressed, and with less parental support due to working requirements, our children are losing control, lashing out at each other, authority figures, and anything else that may get in their way.

Many experts have analyzed violence in today’s world. They have talked about the lack of parental support due to both parents having to work. I am no expert when it comes to giving people advice on how to raise their families. However, I feel confident in my financial expertise. Our nation can easily afford to back-off on the tax burdens that affect the American family. Sure, there will be some pain within our government ranks, our school systems, and social programs that do not provide benefits to the general population. But the pain will pass, our governments and school systems will rebound and be more productive than ever before. The American family will be less burdened, which will result in our younger generations being less burdened. Our nation will once again be filled with the vibrant achievers of the world.

I have had numerous discussions with many different people regarding these issues. Many feel there is nothing that can be done. If our forefathers thought like this, we would still be an English colony paying homage to a far-away kingdom.

We can make change happen, but only if you get involved and make it happen. Pick a cause in life, and fight for it with everything you have. When it comes to our country, I urge you to not be a spectator. Become an active participant – if not for yourself, then for your children, grandchildren, and every future American that shall inhabit earth. Only you can make it happen.

Your America

V.A. Pesce in VA Pesce's Blog
Monday 12 of December, 2005
Chances are your America and our politicians America are not the same place. If you are dead center on the earning scale in real-world twenty-first-century America, you make a bit less than $32,000 a year, and $32,000 is not a sum that our politicians have ever associated with “getting by” in this world.

Politicians have never had a job the way you have a job, where not showing up one morning gets you fired, costing you your health benefits. Politicians may find it difficult to relate personally to any of the nearly two million citizens who have recently lost their jobs, or the nearly 12 million who are still out of work. Politicians have never had to worry that they could not afford the best available health care and education for their children.

For them, forty-three million people without health insurance may be no more than a politically inconvenient abstraction. When politicians talk about the economy, they are not talking about your economy. Their economy is filled with rich pals who fly around in their own airplanes. In politician’s economy and world, their friends relocate their companies offshore to avoid paying taxes. Taxes are for chumps like you. You are not a friend. You're the help. When the party our politicians are hosting ends, you'll be left cleaning up the house.
