Robert DePugh's Minutemen were a viciously anti-Communist organization which existed during the 1960s. They claimed to be defending the United States against what they believed was an imminent Communist invasion. The Minutemen's extremist tactics and propensity for collecting illegal firearms and explosives eventually spelt the end of the radical right-wing group. A massive federal crackdown and ensuing manhunt destroyed the organization and imprisoned its most prominent members. Eric Beckemeier has written his first book about the Minutemen titled: "Traitors Beware: A History of Robert DePugh's Minutemen".
Eric Beckemeier is a lifelong resident of the Norborne, Missouri area. He attended Norborne High School and graduated second in his class in 2003. Beckemeier then attended the University of Central Missouri where he graduated summa cum laude in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice.
Beckemeier's interest in Robert DePugh's anti-communist Minutemen originated from stories he heard about the organization growing up in the Norborne area. His interest in extremist groups while studying Criminal Justice, combined with the Minutemen's history in the Norborne area, inspired him to write Traitors Beware.
Beckemeier is planning to continue writing about extremist political organizations. Visit this storefront often for information concerning forthcoming publications.
If you live in the Norborne area or know the author personally he will have copies of Traitors Beware available for purchase soon. Contact the author for more information.
