"If you like great action and adventure with a dash of the supernatural thrown in, this is the book for you." "There is so much I love about this book, I don't know where to begin. The characters are so well portrayed and the scenes truly exquisite. A wonderful read. " "Very well written. Excellent. Love the cover too."
" What more could you want than spies, thieves, rogue government agencies, cults, booby traps and a bald guy with an eye patch?" Starts out like an espionage thriller, then goes into action adventure, then vigilante flick and then demonic monsters start turning up! Couldn't fault it. " "the plot was masterfully woven together from seemingly separate strands and there was the perfect amount of perfectly executed twists. "A rip-roaring read, with memorable characters and an original, nail-biting plot. While Fallen Heroes most natural audience might be young men with a penchant for fantasy or sci-fi, this thirty-something woman loved it." |
Fallen Heroes pits an unlikely group of heroes and anti heroes against an evil which has existed since the first crusade. If they can keep from killing each other long enough they might just be able to stop the world from plunging into a new dark age. ‘Fallen Heroes is a stylish debut filled with sparkling characters in a skilfully drawn adventure that heralds the arrival of a bright new talent.’ – James Barclay I loved reading this book, particularly for its clever plot that subtly draws all factors together for a big bang effect. It reads like a TV series, with cliff hangers at the end of most chapters, and larger than life characters with big egos and quick wits. The book as a whole draws on many popular culture references & influences, and is easily compared to ‘Sin City’, ‘The Da Vinci Code’, ‘Heroes’ or ‘Buffy’ – there really is something for everyone and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone that enjoys reading or watching Sci-Fi/Fantasy. - Waterstones

Barry Nugent wrote his first story at the young age of 11 and never looked back. In his spare time he co hosts a podcast called Geek Syndicate which focuses on all aspects of pop culture. His first novel titled Paladin was published in 1999. This is the kind of story I’ve always wanted to tell. Although, at its core, Fallen Heroes is a throwback the pulp adventure stories of old it deals with the themes of betrayal, redemption, hope and sacrifice in a modern and contemporary world.” “It’s sometimes difficult finding the time to write but I could never imagine my life without that need to put pen to paper. It sounds like a cliché’ but it’s a part of who I am." |
