Tears of the Willow

Tears of the WillowTears of the Willow (book)

Print: $19.90

Tears of the Willow is the story of Bluesky and Adam, created out of desperate scientific experiments in a hidden northern stronghold to continue a dying human race. The "Newborns" carry the seed for healthy, natural procreation plus the spiritual insight and mental powers to lift mankind to a higher level. The creators of these hybrid children would sterilize and destroy their abilities, seeing the maturing teenagers as a threat to their powerful hold over all of their closed enclave known as the Western Simulate. The story ranges from the glittering pomp of the Western Simulate to the rat-infested holes in the ground of the hidden Deform camps; from the heroic citizens of Duboice surviving against all odds in the wilderness to the Sanctuary called Brights where Barton bitterly opposes Bluesky and her younger siblings.

  • Title appears on Amazon!

OK, I know there are thousands and thousands of books on Amazon, but my novel just appeared, no description and no picture, but now I can work on that part. Does one become truly "published" when their name appears on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Borders? Marketing is another world, but it must be done.

Just made it before the New Year. The first play collection is available. Reworking scripts from the late 1960's was a real trip back in time. I could hear the actor's voices and in the case of Elmoe in Mugwhump! I remembered myself onstage...little memory clips still there. How much does our brain hold?
  • A second book published

    2006 Dec 10

Knowledge is power. Being a novelist is new and exciting. Being a playwright is what I've done for 40 years; writing plays for children's theatre and school audiences. The first collection of 3 plays is published and waiting for the proof copy to be approved. The plays work because they've all been put on stage for many performances. I hope there's groups out there that need some new scripts.

  • A few pixels can make a difference.

So, published is not totally published. My book disappeared for a few days while I learned about the size of the white box for the barcode. Be sure the resolution is correct for the 300dpi of the master graphic when you paste in the box. Anyway, corrections done and once again we're up for Global Distribution. The folks at Lulu were very helpful and patient. Thanks Josh and Hillary!

  • Writing is not publishing.

    2006 Nov 06

Being published is a different view. Suddenly you are on the other side of a very high fence. Looking back I wonder why it ever took so long, but of course when one doesn't know all the answers, all the little uninformed clicks one should have made... I sort of hit the other side on November 2nd after nearly 10 years of off and on. Now the second novel is already in the correct format and flowing along with much more ease. At least right now.

The first time causes a new learning curve...
    We have to start somewhere.
