Mr. George Manos
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in English Literature and a Master of Science in Human Services with a concentration in management. I served in the public sector health care system for much of my career but from an early age loved and indited poetry. I took several courses that dealt exclusively with poetic technique and the works of the classic poets such as Keats, Blake, Raleigh, Shelley, and Byron. One course was devoted exclusively to the writings of William Shakespeare. I also have read the classic American poets such as Emerson, Frost, Poe, and T.S. Eliot. My goal is to contribute substantively to the field of poetry.

Kidron's Calm
A collection of various poetic topics and techniques from classical to contemporary. The title was influenced by a work from W.B. Yeats' "The Wind Among the Reeds", called "The Travail of Passion". In it he references "Kidron's stream". "Kidron is a ravine E. of Jerusalem leading to the Mount of Olives: traditionally identified by Jewish, Christian and Muslim religions as the Valley of Decision, the place of the final judgment." (Webster’s New Unabridged Dictionary, USA 1996.)
