“A perfect child’s viewpoint of being placed in foster care,
then the adoption process.”
— B. Foster, teacher “This little girl uses a young horse to tell of her own journey of being adopted by her foster parents.” — Family Therapist |
Heather Caroline Higgins lived with her birthparents until
the age of seven when she was removed by the local
Department of Social Services. Heather lived in two
foster homes before being placed with the Higgins.
At the age of nine, Heather, along with her
three younger siblings, was adopted.
Now, at the age of eleven, Heather lives with Autism as well as Auditory Processing Disorder and severe delays with her motor skills. However, she wrote this book to share with other children that foster families are “OK” and that new families can be fun and should not be scary. |
