She arrived to the session dressed for winter. Although mild for this time of year, we were having a cold day and Milena needed to get the chills out of her body in order to feel comfortable to pose for me. Soon I was going to be treated to her youthful loveliness. But I liked what she wore and asked her to just stand comfortably as we chat about our session, that would commence momentarily. The conversation evolved to a monologue, as Milena described herself, her life, her wishes, aspirations and desires. With my camera in hand I just had to start documenting our time together, as you will witness in the pages of this calendar

sanctuaire. C’est ce que nous proposent Éric Dupuis et Sol Lang avec leur essai photographique intitulé « Sanctuaires ». Au sens figuré, le mot sanctuaire signifie « lieu protégé, fermé, secret, sacré ». C’est sans contredit ce que ces deux artistes ont voulu exploiter. D’un côté Éric Dupuis a placé sa caméra au coeur même de lieux perçus d’emblée comme sanctuaires – les églises. À l’autre extrême, Sol Lang nous convie dans un endroit aux abords hostiles. Deux visions intimistes, aux esthétiques radicalement différentes, mais qui s’unissent dans leur perception du lieu.

Print: $19.99 Download: $4.99 Opposed at the outset – almost irreconcilably – here are two visions of what represents a sanctuary. That is what are proposing Éric Dupuis and Sol Lang with their photographic essay entitled “Sanctuaries”.
In the figurative sense, the word sanctuary means “protected, closed, secret, sacred place”. This is without a doubt what these two artists want to express.
On one side Éric Dupuis placed his camera at the heart of places that are without question perceived as sanctuaries – the churches.
At the other extreme, Sol Lang brings us to a place that seems hostile at first glance.
Two intimate visions with radically different aesthetics that merge through their perception of place.
