NOTE: In the preview given, the pages selected are out of order, not how they are in the actual book. HIDING SUNRISE is a collection of journal entries and related sources that share with the reader stories of depression, self-injury, eating disorders, hospitalizations, friendship, death, the ups and downs of teenage years, and learning to survive it all. Included inside are drawings, logs, short stories and poetry to add onto the story and deepen it. It's really many stories in one, a hundred little pieces of a large puzzle nested inside the covers of a book. Are all the pieces there? No. But it's enough to take a good glimpse into the world of the person's soul enclosed. "Get ready to meet Felicity Dawn Monroe. Because she's ready to meet you." Fact: The name of this book actually came from a project that was done in an inpatient psychiatric hospital. The patients were asked to come up with their own 2-word Native American name that described them, whether it was a hidden meaning or not. Then they were to draw a mini poster for the name. I had come up with "Hiding Sunrise"; it's multi-descriptive. For one, my middle name is Dawn, which can be associated with Sunrise. Hiding means that I was sort of in hiding, zoned out, depressed, not a part of the world. And then, Hiding Sunrise altogether could mean that I had a lot going for me, that I was meant to do great stuff and leave an impact on people, but that I had yet to show them and shine through. My poster is the first picture enclosed in the book.
