SOUNDS OF MARINELAND RECORDED LIVE was a 7-inch vinyl souvenir record that was sold exclusively in the gift shops of the world famous Southern California oceanarium, Marineland of the Pacific. In the early seventies, Marineland’s three main shows were recorded live on tape. In order to produce a record, these tapes had to be edited down to an approximate playing time of 14 minutes. This digital compact disc was produced from the original edited master tape and features audio highlights from the Seal and Dolphin Show, the Bubbles the Whale Show and the Killer Whale Show. The CD packaging also includes a reproduction of the souvenir record’s actual back cover. This CD is a unique and entertaining look back at Marineland’s historic past. Digital formats can reveal certain inherent audio limitations associated with an analog tape source.
