Captain Exetre was considered a hero once. He was loved by his peers, his superiors and the general population of Achrinom. Now, he is wanted for murder, domestic abuse and many other serious offenses, some of which were committed right in front of very reliable witnesses.

The strange thing is, Exetre was never actually present when these crimes occurred.

Faced with execution for the crimes of which he stands accused, Exetre is left with no choice -- he must flee from his home planet with his companions if he ever hopes to clear his name. But how does one escape from a planet in the grip of the galaxy's deadliest race?

This is the first book in the Captain Exetre series. (Larger print version)

Captain Exetre: Phantom VoiceCaptain Exetre: Phantom Voice (book)

Print: $12.98

An observatory floats alone in space. There are no nearby planets or ships. The large structure seems inactive, yet it continually broadcasts a cryptic distress signal mentioning only computer trouble and an epidemic. However, scans reveal no life forms present. Something terrible happened in this place. Many lights are inoperative. Blood stains the floor. The computer runs itself. A rancid stench hangs in the air. And from someplace unseen, a female voice calls out desperately for help.... This is the third book in the Captain Exetre series.

On the other side of the galaxy is a planet called Harrmai. This once-peaceful place now appears deserted, its inhabitants disappeared. The only being present is a man who calls himself Jelrock. Bizarrely, Jelrock hardly seems bothered by the fact that he is alone and apparently the only one of his kind. Even more bizarre is Jelrock's choice to reside in a factory where robots work every hour of the day. Is Jelrock the victim of an accident, or does he have some horrible secret to hide? And who is the girl whose image appears on the monitors scattered throughout the factory? This is the second book in the Captain Exetre series. (Larger print version.)

The current calendar (2008) is family-friendly, but the next publication will be a collection of the webcomic itself and will thus be for adult audiences. It will be visible through my website at http://st37.startlogic.com/~theblood/ivan_henley/books.html but don't try to find it until next year; it's not ready yet. Just kind of a heads-up, you might say.

Those of you who have read Galactic Drifter and enjoy it, please feel free to leave feedback; I never get enough.

In case anyone is curious, my Galactic Drifter webcomic is here. Unlike Kitty Milo, Galactic Drifter is aimed at adults rather than kids. The Galactic Drifter calendar I've posted here on lulu is actually work-safe; I just rated it teen so no one would make the mistake of thinking that the characters in it come from a family-friendly webcomic. As a bit of fun, the calendar includes the characters' birthdays.
