Download: $0.99 The Awakening is Van Devender's first venture into composition. Starting out as a college Music Theory project to write in the style of Bach, it eventually became the piece Van Devender's bride-to-be walked down te aisle to, as well as several other eventual brides. The Awakening is on the JavaMusiK release Ascend, recorded in 1998. Imagine a collaboration between J.S. Bach & George Winston. Enjoy!

Originally composed as a Music Theory project in college, The Awakening was eventually used in Van Devender's wedding when his bride to be walked down the aisle. Just over 20 years later, it is finally available for purchase as a published piece. Just over 10 years previous to publishing, it was released on the JavaMusiK cd, Ascend.

It is followed immediately by the title track from Jeff's first cd played live - Ascend. The listener will notice the raw emotion in this live track that transcends the original studio recording.
