What is a hero? Many would say,a hero is one who would die so that others may live on. One who would put his own life in danger, to save or protect a person, or people he has never met. To save a nation, or a freedom in peril. To become a hero... One must perish. Why? What is a hero? A hero is a soldier. A friend taken too soon. A father. A husband. A brother. A son. My best friend. Who never knew how much he was loved in life. Perhaps he may know now... He is still loved in death. Harley D.R. Miller American Hero. What is a hero? A man that would sacrifice his own life to ensure that his family can have a better one. An American soldier very dear to me. An American soldier with a strength and honor no man could shake. Dedicated and sharing. Handsome and strong. He has a dream that by no means could he ever overlook, and a hope that could never be overcome. Danika Bathory is a quiet, well to do woman with a house, a museum, and two cats to call best friends. While she finds her social life lacking, she doesn't really mind so much. She likes her life. But, when a childhood friend unearths an artifact that she cannot identify, she is paid a visit by a captivating stranger, who claims the relic belongs to him. Odd things begin to happen. She begins to have nightmares of a life not her own, and something not of this world terrorizes her in the dark. Soon, Danika begins to suspect that this odd artifact is not the only thing that has been unearthed. When her lineage is called into question of these strange events, she finds that her dark stranger may be the only one who can answer her questions, before she is driven mad.
Danika is driven to choose between her mind... And what is real.

Thanksgiving is on the way, folks. Christmas soon after. Yahoo. My holiday spirits usually soar, but this year I find myself a bit sad. I lost my father this year, and my husband may deploy again. I spent the Holidays last year alone. I hope I don't have to again this year, especially with my father passing away two weeks before my birthday. And, all of my holiday decorations, (tree and stockings included) were lost in my last move...joy!
