Hi. I'm Janice. I like to write things.
Other than constantly tapping out symbols that will eventually create words on my typewriter/Macbook Pro (depending on availability of electricity), I enjoy meditation, music, and the combination of the two. I also like ferns, cats, and people. They're really neat. I read a lot. I also like to be loud, and dance, and sing. Some of my favorite books include: Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk On The Road by Jack Kerouac Candide by Voltaire The Unbearable Lightness Of Being by Milan Kundera Stranger In A Strange Land by Robert Heinlein My favorite records might include: The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are DEVO by DEVO The Soft Bulletin by The Flaming Lips Domestica by Cursive Pulse Demon by Merzbow Strange We Should Meet Here by Idiot Pilot I used to write independent plays that no one performed, so I switched over to writing screenplays for some of my film-making friends in Portland, OR. Some of my past projects include Easy/Lucky/Free and Letters To Alex. I take a lot of notes. I always have some sort of pen and paper in my hands...I use a lot of composition books...I also record little tapes of people's conversations, and unusual sounds, and sometimes the news. Now I'm writing books. Voice. is my first one (just released the second edition in paperback!) and I'm working on one right now called Canvas. I don't write books like normal people write books. If you want to talk to me, I've inhabited a little cubicle on the internet at the new social networking site, Virb.com. It's really easy to remember, and I love talking to people. virb.com/janice |
