My main aim in writing this novel was to expose the philosophy of Anarchy as peaceful self determination without government, rather than the usual use of the word which involves the violent chaos of some crazy individuals.

    Background:

In the year 2002 seven European Peace workers are brutally murdered by a rising and troublesome Chinese sect, called the Pradjingo (or The Chosen Predator). Peri Maxwell, a Philosopher from Liverpool University, was in China at that time, and since hearing of the murders made researching the Pradjingo his main cause. (I chose China because of the untamed Kunlun Mountains and the links which I could make to the ancient Dragon Throne).

There are two very different anarchists in the story; the first is the horrendous and power crazy Pradjingo leader (a tyrannt really), the second is Peri Maxwell’s mentor – the Professor Clarkson, a philosophical advocate of self-determination. The story is entitled ‘The Anarchist’s Dream’ because of its lucidity and its portrayal of future world ways of thinking and living.

I have tried to imagine how the world might be different from how it is now. On the whole England is highly civilized, although the Pradjingo and their drug the ‘Daygaze’ are already taking control of the weaker parts of the population. The Pradjingo leader uses mind control via drugs and then infiltrates daily communication networks from his satellite station base which orbits the earth. The Pradjingo people dwell in a cave settlement, and have technology far more advanced than the rest of the world.

    Here is a short Synopsis:

Part 1 begins with a news paper clipping written by Harry Stewart, dated 04/02/2002, the first chapter introduces Peri Maxwell, who longs to venture to China to enlighten the Pradjingo leader with his ideas of a solution to the problem of world peace. Later he is drawn into Amy’s group to form the infinite eight. This part of the novel is set in Liverpool, and describes the downfall of cars, alongside the perfection of hover motion, plus the political aspects war and peace.

Part 2 begins with a news paper clipping written by Derry Derr, dated Thursday May the 4th 2045, which details the research funding gained by a student from Sheffield University named Amy Kapolski, and her supervisor Professor Prosthus. Through her experimental psychology Amy delivers to us the characters who will make up the Sheffield seven, all of whom are united through her experimental asylum, which utilises the Illuminum Dream Visulant (IDV) a drug which allows dreams to be video recorded.

Part 3; together the eight travel to China and eventually succeed in bringing about the downfall of the Pradjingo leader and his sect. This involves an adventurous journey across land, a little romance, a lot of fighting and sonic jets with sonic boom absorbers which can traverse the atmospheres of both earth and space – a bit like the space shuttle but better. Eventually Amy uses her psychic shield, sacrificing her own life to deflect the attacks of the Pradjingo leader and destroy his satellite base.
