Download: $8.99 This collection features Kathy Shaidle's series of columns for the Catholic Register.
Each "bite sized" chapter uses humor and pop culture references to bring Catholic teaching alive.
This is NOT a stuffy, stuck-up tome about "Our Blessed Mother," written by some old guy who still thinks Sony Walkmans are the latest thing.
I wrote the columns in A Catholic Alphabet for myself as much as my readers. I wanted to force myself to learn about the Assumption, and different old heresies, and other things I was pretty sure I understood but maybe not 100 percent.
I'm an ex-punk and a movie & TV junkie, and these columns reflect that. If you're a Vatican II baby like me -- or even if you aren't -- these mini-essays will give you a fresh perspective on traditional teachings.
Some courageous souls have even used A Catholic Alphabet when teaching RCIA, which is very flattering and as good a recommendation as I can imagine!
