The shawl is knit in lightweight alpaca wool, lending it softness without heaviness. Several beads are woven into the front of the shawl to provide not only a hint of shimmer but also a lovely drape.
The simple design allows the shawl to be serviceable for everyday wear. Take it from home to work to out on the town. The simple design also equates to an easy yet entertaining knit.

A 14 inch/35.5 cm square pillow is the frame for a knitted panel featuring intertwining cables. Due to the way the yarn is manipulated, the cables change color.
The knitted panels are made first and then hand-tacked to the pillow fabric prior to the pillow being sewn together. If you prefer, the two knitted panels may be stitched together to create a 100% hand knit pillow with two unique sides. Instructions are given for both options.
Yarn: 2 skeins of Reynolds Bulky Lopi, one in each color.
Materials needed to complete project: Size 9 needles, Size I crochet hook, and a 14-inch pillow form.

Cabled & Ribbed ScarfCabled & Ribbed Scarf (multimedia download)
Download: $2.00 Have you wanted to knit a scarf with cables, but hate ending up with a "wrong" side to it? Then, try this pattern. The front of this scarf has two plaited cables running the length of the scarf sandwiched in between ribbings. The back side of the scarf shows only the ribbing. Thus, you will be the owner of a scarf with no "wrong" side. (The trick lies in how you maneuver the cable needles.)
Sample measurements:
Scarf width: 5.25 inches (13 cm). Scarf length: 5.25 feet (1.6 m). (Note that your measurements may vary depending on where you choose to end the scarf.)
Materials needed: Size 9 needles (5.5 mm) and 2 cable needles.
Yarn: 1 skein of Peruvian Tweed yarn.

Download: $2.00 This hat coordinates with the Cabled & Ribbed scarf pattern. It has the same features as the scarf in that there is no “wrong” side to it. The front of this hat has plaited cables running the length of it sandwiched in between ribbings. The back side of the hat shows only the ribbing. The pattern is kept easy by having all the decreases worked at the top once the pattern is complete. Additionally, there is no need to create a band of ribbing, since the whole hat will be ribbed on the back side. Once you start the pattern, you don’t stop until you get to the crown of the hat.

Big Dipper ScarfBig Dipper Scarf (multimedia download)
Download: $4.00 This scarf was designed especially for EtsyFAST’s August Challenge. The challenge to all EtsyFAST members was to create fiber art with a celestial theme.
If you are new to beadwork, this is a great project to start with. Only 14 beads are used in the entire scarf. Each set of 7 beads represents the Big Dipper within the Ursa Major constellation. All beads are attached by the slipped stitch technique, which is considered the easier of the two well-known techniques.
The entire scarf is double knit. The end result is a scarf that is twice as thick as other scarves, making it a perfect gift for someone who has to endure any cold, bitter winters.
Finished Measurements:Width: 5 inches/12.7 cm
and length: 56 inches/1.4 meters.
Yarn: Wool by Sheep Valley, 2 skeins at 210 yards each in Midnight Blue.

The front side of this pillow cover design features the Chinese symbol meaning Double Happiness. The backside of the pillow is plain except for lines of eyelets through which ribbon or other embellishments can be woven through. Additionally, the backside is knit in two pieces for easy insertion and removal of a small pillow.
