Live Art Blogging: thirty-eight drawings trace the path of artist Honoria Starbuck through conversations about social networking at the 2008 South by Southwest Interactive Conference. Sketchbook in hand, and many years of spontaneous artistic experience to draw from, Austin artist Honoria captured the social energy and the poetics of the moment in panels and discussions at South by Southwest.


About the Author

Life goes by so fast. Honoria Starbuck's drawings appreciate the speed and beauty of our time. Her lightening quick strokes capture a few seconds in the life of a model, the abstract and figurative forms, and the dynamic tension between artist, model, and their co-creative energies.

Besides the new form of Live Art Blogging that is on display here, Honoria Starbuck specializes in life drawing, also called figure drawing, or drawing from the nude, creating works on paper and canvas using ink, watercolor, gouache, and oil pastels. Starbuck teaches life drawing at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online Division.

Honoria Starbuck holds an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in fine art, communications, and education; a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology, and a B.A. in Studio Art.
