Safe Haven Issue 1 and Issue 2. When a well-known superhero dies because doctors at the hospital cannot find a way to pierce his indestructible skin, the medical community decides to create a special hospital specifically designed to deal with unique problems that arise from metahuman physiolody. They name this hospital Safe Haven. Unfortunately, the hospital's first test comes when their city's guardian is put into a coma and near death. Even the best minds and superior technology that has been brought together as Safe Haven seems unable to save him. Without any other options, the desperate doctors are forced to consult with the one man who once managed to pierce the hero's skin. His name is Christian Tallos, but to many he is simply known as the Black Butcher and is considered a ruthless villain. Unsure of his ulterior motives the doctors must cooperate with Tallos if they want any chance at saving their city's champion.
