Welcome!
I am offering two different-sized 2010 calendars this year, again made up of
some of my favorite photos as a humble way to help raise money for
charity. This year, 100%
of the profits from the calendars sold here will be divided evenly
between:
Habitat for Humanity
Mama's Kitchen
I will also apply for a dollar-for-dollar matching grant from Microsoft Corporation for each charity. So
your purchase will have double the impact. (Yeah Microsoft!)
Habitat For Humanity started in 1976. Since that time Habitat has built
more than 200,000 houses around the world, providing more than
1,000,000 people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent,
affordable shelter. It is an ecumenical grass roots volunteer
organization, with more than 2,100 active affiliates in 92 countries. I
have a deep personal connection to Habitat and can testify that they
meet needs and fulfill dreams for people of all flavors in a profoundly
practical way.
Mama’s Kitchen believes that every person is entitled to the basic necessity of life: nutritious food. As a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organization, they prepare and deliver food to men, women and children who are affected by AIDS or other critical illnesses. Volunteers prepare and deliver three nutritional meals a day, seven days a week at no charge to affected men, women and children, providing food, compassion and hope to over 1,500 people annually.
If you need a 2010 calendar and you purchase one here, I hope you'll
enjoy knowing that you'll also be supporting these two wonderful
organizations.
There are two 2010 calendars to choose from: one in standard format for
$16.50 (22 pages, 11" x 8.5", coil binding, white interior paper (100# weight), full-color interior ink), one in large format for $30 (13 pages, 13.50"
x 19.00", coil binding, 80# white interior paper, full-color interior
ink), each featuring 13 original photos of mine.
Note: I have raised the prices a bit this year, but this just means that Habitat for Humanity and Mama's Kitchen will just get a little more money from this effort. I keep nothing. 100% of the proceeds goes directly to these two charities.
If you'd like to see a preview of the calendar images, just click on the "2010 Calendar" (in blue) below, and you can page through each month's photos (the preview takes a few moments to load). This year's photos are: January: Conspicuous Cliffs, Western Australia; February: Kayak Rainbow, Rockport, MA, CA; March: Bluebells on Boot Hill, Julian, CA; April: Cadillac Smile, Encinitas, CA; May: Sunset, Twin Lakes, ID; June: Picnic Pending, Rockport, MA; July: Stones & Sea, Point Loma, San Diego, CA; August: Nightscape, Perth, Western Australia; September: Lotus Flowers, Balboa Park, San Diego, CA; October: Naptime on the Serengetti, Tanzania (standard calendar) / Flotsam, Rottnest Island, Western Australia (large calendar); November: Evening in the French Quarter, New Orleans, LA; December: Backporch Sunset, Leucadia, CA. (All photos Mark Patterson copyright 2009.)
Again, I will apply to Microsoft Corporation for a dollar-for-dollar match to the profits generated from the sale of these calendars. And that will then be split equally between Habitat for Humanity and Mama's Kitchen.
May a calendar you buy here bring you enjoyment and opportunities for
contemplation every day of the year.
Peace. - Mark
