  1 Sagittarius 22nd November – 21st December
  As the month of December begins it will be an exceptionally lucky time for you, as Jupiter and Venus are in your house of wealth and investments, this bodes well for cash or money making opportunities. But, you should be wary of conveying excessive behaviour this month, spending in particular.
  You will also get out of life what you put in, for it is now your turn to experience someone’s generosity as the season of extravagance approaches. A Red box will bring you a unique gift from that special someone.
  
  2 Capricorn 22nd December – 20th January
  As the month of December arrives, you are being urged not to over exert yourself, because when Mars and Saturn are squaring up to each other it can indicate accidents. So if you want to enjoy the festive season be careful as your energy levels will remain a bit low at this time.
  Also it might be a good idea to work through the things that have blocked your progress over the past few months, finding productive solutions to tiresome situations, and try and put it behind you as the family comes together for the celebrations.

• Branches of Astrology-

  House systems and different Branches of Astrology__
  
  This is a little information about the different house systems which are used to draw up or constructed the chart wheel or horoscope.
  House systems are a way of looking at the varying perimeters of the chart wheel, and a way in which the zodiac wheel is divided up in to its 12 houses.
  It is a way of identifying the different (cusps) “beginnings of the house” I will not go into the mathematics’ of this but give you a general out line as to their application and areas of astrology in which they are useful.
  
  Placidus house system: This was created by Placidus de titis (1603-1668) he was a professor of mathematics’ at Pavia and an astrologer to the archduke Leopold.
  It has unequal divisions and degrees of the 12 houses. This system is used for natal charts (birth) psychological astrology and horary astrology.
  
  Koch: This is a system that was created by Walter kosh (1895-1977) this is thought to be used on computer systems. This is used for natal psychological and predictive and horary astrology.
  
  Campanus: This was invented by the 13th century mathematician Campano of Novara this is thought to only have use in mundane astrology. (Used in Country or political astrology).
  
  Regiomontanus: This was devised by Johann Muller (1436-1476) he was known as Regiomontanus.
  William Lilly, in my opinion, the world’s greatest horary astrologer (1602-1681) he used the “table of houses” created by Regiomontanus and his astrological house system extensively. This system and division of houses is applied in horary astrology.
  
  Equal house system: This basically means that all the 12 houses of the zodiac chart wheel are of equal size and degrees. This system can be used for all types of astrological work. It’s the easiest system to use. As the ascendent forms the cusp or beginning of the 1st house and all other houses are plotted from that. Then the 2nd house would start 30 degrees on from the cups of the 1st house and so on around the chart wheel till all 12 houses were plotted.
  
  Sun or solar house astrology: This links back as far as the ancient Egyptians and Indians, 5000 centuries BC.
  It is calculated by the sign of the zodiac being placed on the horizon at dawn for the month in question.
  It is used to draw-up charts for popular astrology, the “time phase” astrology of the sun signs found in magazines and newspapers today.
  
  
  Different branches or subject covered in astrology
  
  There are many branches of astrology, of which lots of us are unaware unless you study the subject.
  I will attempt to enlighten you to the different areas and range of subjects that can be looked at by using this ancient art or science. This subject dates back as mentioned 5000 years or more.
  
  The most common to all is sun sign or popular astrology this is as we know what we would find in a magazine or news paper it gives trends for an allotted time, either 1 week or 1 month summed up in a paragraph commonly known as a horoscope.
  For this, a chart is drawn up, looking at the transits and Progressions of the planets and a general assessment of there energies are looked at according to the aspect the planets are making to each other.
  (Transits means daily motion of planets) (Progression is the symbolic movement of the planets around the horoscope) This then forms the energy that is said to have an effect on the individual and zodiac signs.
  
  The next most common to us is natal astrology. This is the study of the planets that are circling the sky at our time of birth. This gives us a celestial picture of the person we have drawn the chart for.
  The natal chart is a diagram or picture that stops the universal clock and captures a unique moment as it exists at the time of your birth.
  The natal chart reveals a picture of what we are capable of becoming; it shows positive and negative aspects of our personality and life. And having this information to hand can give us better insight into our personality and the potential we hold within us.
  
  Horary astrology: This is the asking of questions, and obtaining answers by consulting a chart set for the time, date and location of the querent. (The person asking or posing the question) The name of horary comes from the Greek "hora" or hour and means "of the hour. The answer to the question is found by looking at the planets by their strength and position, then looking at the aspect the planets form. There are lots of considerations to be looked at to see if the question is fit to be judged, or if this is the correct time to look for the answer.
  
  Electional astrology This is the branch that deals with a selection of most auspicious moments of time, for starting a new business venture to getting married, or planning your future. Electional astrology enables you to elect the time that is right for you. Electional astrology is the planning of an event or an undertaking by selecting the best planetary configurations that are likely to occur and is working in harmony with your birth chart. You look at the chart to see what offers you the best configuration and which planets will help to bring about success. By doing this you have some control over your own destiny.
  
  Mundane astrology This is the branch that looks at countries and its political affairs. It is the study of countries and what is likely to be the influences placed upon it in the coming year. It deals with the mundane affairs of countries, nations and states of the world. In the UK it is usual that an *ingress chart is drawn up at the time of the winter solstice and the chart can be looked at for the following twelve months. (*Ingress means it is an entry of the sun or any orbital body into a Sign, or a quadrant of the chart.) Then the transit and progressions are calculated and interpretations of events are shown as with any other chart.
  
  Synastry astrology, This is a branch that deals with compatibilities; it’s a comparison of two charts. This could be used to look at romantic relationship or between work colleagues, or potential business partners. This is a handy way to evaluate the compatibility and areas that might arise in relationships, to personality conflicts, this report will hopefully indicate where harmony can be found and conflict avoided.
  
  Medical astrology This is a branch of astrology that looks at the health of the person involved. It can be used to look at any weak areas in the birth chart and any hereditary diseases or potential illness that are looming on the horizon. It can be used to look at diets, treatments that might benefit the native and the strengths of medications and how they influence the individual. --- A special chart known as a decumbiture chart is erected and this is based upon the time and location of an illness or injury. This can be used with the birth chart to look at where the present illness or injury has occurred. The sun the moon the ascendent and the 6th house are all important areas to research when we look at the chart in relationship to illness, or weak areas of health.
  It is an interesting thought that if a woman is said to have her moon in the star sign Scorpio at birth, then she would be likely to be prone to problems with female(lady bits- womb or genitals, or if a man has his moon in Leo then he could be prone to heart problems.
  Each sign has a weak area and one of strength.

  This time of year is known as Mabon or Alban Elfed, or autumn equinox, depending on which tradition or spiritual denomination.
  
  This is the time of the year when the hours of day and night are of equal length.
  It is a time when the dark will gradually gain in power over the light, a time when nature and the earth offer up its final gifts of fruits, berries, nuts and its fields full of ripe grain.
  
  This is a time when you should be reflecting back on the past year, a time of thanksgiving for the ideas and experiences you have gained as you journey through the year.
  The seeds of hope and inspiration where sewn at the spring/ vernal equinox, and you have nurtured them all summer long, and now it is time to harvest the results of your time and effort.
  
  To attune to the season decorate you home with leaves or dried fruits, and light candles in reds or gold and warm tones that resemble the colours of the leaves at this time of year.
  Eat fruit cake, make jam, drink apple cider or make a bird feeder.
  Sit quietly and meditate or contemplate and give thanks for the gifts life have brought you – thank the spirits of the earth for there generous bounty and harvest.
  
  Achievements and the fulfilment of idea’s and reflection and balance are associated with this festival, so reflect and meditate on all that has been achieved and which is still to come - its now time to reap what you have sewn.
  
  This is also associated with the zodiac sign of Virgo 21st August- 21st September – Virgo has a mutable energy, making them practical, analytical and a good communicator.
