The theme that ties everything together in this volume is gender, hence the title, Fragments of Gender. All my writing is an attempt to engage people in a discussion of things people mostly don't want to discuss about sex, gender and sexuality.

A Queer Circle of Friends
A Queer Circle of Friends is a sequel to Fool for Love (also by Lisa Lees), part of a continuing romance series for young genderqueer people. In Fool for Love, Carys and Jami met at a spring break arts camp in high school and fell in love. Working out what that meant, for one girl who had never willingly worn a dress and another who was intersexed, was a bit of a problem. But they did the work needed, and now are happily coupled. At the start of A Queer Circle of Friends, Carys and Jami have been living together for six months. The outgoing one of the pair, Carys has helped start a support group for queer and gender-questioning young people. The death of an online member of that group sends shock waves that change Carys's and Jami's relationship, nudge Jami to change her appearance, and help convince Carys to start the gender theater troupe she's been thinking about forming.
