Dear Readers and Parents, my name is Jacqueline Vick and I am a mystery and juvenile author. I have many published short stories, but Logical Larry is my first children's book. I am a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. I wrote Logical Larry because today's children are assaulted by so many marketing images and bits of false information that they need to develope a special skill--the ability to think for themselves. I included funny vocabulary definitions at the end of the book because I don't believe in "writing down" to children. They love to learn! My website, www.logicallarry.homestead.com, contains additional information about Larry and his friends. It also has a quick vocabulary test and a duckling detector quiz that will let them understand how others can try to influence their decisions about simple things, such as who to like. Above all, I tried to make the book entertaining and funny. It was evaluated by a fourth grade class in the Midwest, and the majority of the children gave it a thumbs up! I hope you enjoy the book!
