MAX QUICK Book One: The Pocket and the Pendant
WHEN TIME mysteriously stops, young Max Quick must travel across America to find the source of this 'temporal disaster'...
Along the way, he and his companions encounter ancient mysteries, quantum Books, and clues to the riddle of stopped Time.
But the more Max learns, the more it seems that his own true identity is not what he once believed. Now he must race against a clock that can no longer tick, before the very world itself is altered forever...
"driven -- and driven well -- by good old-fashioned sci-fi storytelling."

The Pocket and the Pendant
From the Kirkus review:
"A sci-fi adventure steeped in the lore of an ancient civilization that will appeal to children and adults alike.
Max Quick's life drastically changes after time suddenly stops. The young man of 12 -- harassed by bullies, living as an orphan in a violent home for boys and about to be thown into juvenile hall -- is mysteriously immune to this chrono-freeze. He soon discovers other children who are impervious as well -- namely, Casey Cole and Ian Keating -- and the three find themselves embarking on a thrilling quest...driven -- and driven well -- by good old-fashioned sci-fi storytelling."

MAX QUICK Book Two: The Two Travelers
In this sequel to 'The Pocket and the Pendant', five quiet years have passed for Max Quick, Casey Cole, Ian Keating and Sasha Fwa. Yet Starland, California is no longer safe. When they find Enki homeless and crazed in the Food Universe parking lot, he babbles an incoherent warning and then escapes through the Pyramid of the Arches. Worried that Enki doesn't seem to be himself, Casey and Sasha follow. Meanwhile, Max and Ian go through another Arch back to 1912, where a mysterious Machine is under construction that could shed light on Max's unremembered past and importance. But there is more than meets the eye to both storylines -- the enemies of Mr. E, the Archons, are afoot with their nefarious ends, which are never what they seem. The two storylines hurtle forward and weave their way back together for a stunning conclusion ...
At 180,000 words, 'The Two Travelers' is almost twice as long as 'The Pocket and the Pendant'.
