Jenny had the perfect teenager's life... a loving father and a caring stepmother, with friends and school activities to occupy her time. But the tragic death of her father would send her fairy tale life spinning out of control. The resulting events would take her on a desperate cross-country search to find the birthmother she had never known. This dramatic two part story follows a young girl from Texas who decides to go to New York to find her birthmother. She befriends a street-wise boy who helps her in her quest, but they encounter many unexpected challenges along the way.
"In a Sense of Love" took over four years to complete. My boyfriend spend many hours editing and re-writing our long suffering manuscript. My talent for plot and dialogue was enhanced by his keen knowlege of writing technique. The result is a consistant style that is uniquely ours. Having someone to bounce ideas off of has helped move many plot challenges forward faster than expected. We have read all the books on writing and publishing and are now ready to share our work with the world. We chose Lulu knowing that the path would be easier and shorter than working with a traditional publisher. At some point you just need to get your writing out there to see if other people will enjoy it.

This is great news if you want to get your hands on my first novel, which has been getting excellent reviews. Many people have been asking for me to write a sequel. Which I have been thinking about, but I desperately need to sell more books first! Hopefully lowering the price a bit will make that happen. It makes a great gift for someone you love.
My second book titled "Curse of the Lost Tribe" is due to be completed sometime in 2009. It's a story about a group of college students who go out on an archeological field trip to the Arizona desert and discover a dark spiritual mystery after they uncover artifacts from an ancient tribe of cave dwellers. They will need to use their combined talents to unravel the secret of the spirit that is haunting them, and no one will be safe until the mysterious spirit has been appeased.

Update: As of 09/01/09 I am working on chapter 26 with at least 12 more chapters to go. My editor has caught up to me, so I need to get going, if I'm going to finish this year. The characters in this story are slightly older than in my previous novel. But I think the book will still appeal to young adults, which is the group I'm trying to write for. That doesn't mean that adults won't like it too, it's just that I like writing about that age group.
