Mercury Brightman: The First Sign
There was a time when Thera was free... free from tyranny, free from fear, and free from pain. A great evil threatens to destroy the delicate balance between Thera and Earth, and it seems that all hope is lost. Yet, there is a bright light at the end of this dark tunnel of despair.

Thirteen-year old Mercury Brightman has crossed the great divide that keeps Thera and Earth apart, and discovers a magical world of enchantment and possibility. Before she has a chance to experience its pure magic she learns that it is she who must save it from its terrible fate. Stranded in a world of magic, mayhem and mystery, Mercury must unlock its secrets if she is going to ever get home -- wherever it may be.

Mary E. Gober
Author, Artist, Nerd, Dreamer
Mary was born a military-brat in Germany, on June 2 to Don and Liz, and her sister Jane. She has spent most of her life moving around and trying to decided what she wanted to be when she grew up. When she was 5 she wanted to be an artist, by the time she was 10, she wanted to be President of the United States. As she turned 12 she thought she would try being an astronaut and when she attended Robert E. Lee in Springfield, VA, she wanted to be an actress. Eventually she decided to be a Graphic Designer, and so she went to Bowling Green State University, where she got her BFA in Graphic Design and became one. Thirteen months after she graduated she discovered that she wanted to be a writer… who knew?

In 2001, Mary became an avid Harry Potter™ fan and she adopted the online identity known as MISSMARYPOTTER. Over the years she has attended various HP fan events like Nimbus-2003 where she designed the program cover and then Accio 2005, where she served as Art Director to the event. In the summer of 2002, she had a vision of Mercury Brightman™ and began composing Mercury's five part epic adventure. In that time she appeared on American Idol™ when she tried to see if she could sing in public... since that wasn't meant to be, she continued working on the book.

Mary is still a Graphic Designer in Mesa, AZ and hopes that you will enjoy this book. She still hasn’t grown up completely, but then again she never really wanted to anyway. In the end Mary advises you to, "plan big, even if big never happens," because anything is possible, if you believe in yourself enough to try.
