Hardcover Print: $25.50 I love quotations - all sorts of quotations - inspirational ones, scientific ones, political ones, humorous ones and even religious ones.
This book is a collection of some of my favourite quotations about “life”. How to live life, how to succeed, how to grow, how to behave, how to listen, how to be happy, how to be .... ah well .... read it for yourself. You’ll see what I mean!
You’ve got just ONE life ..... use it.
Quotations are strange things, they’re merely a few words written by different people. They’re usually very short, direct and to the point. They’re often so simple and blunt that they stick in the mind and make one think. Some of them are very profound and can leave a lasting impression on some readers.
Often just one sentence sums up what another writer might have taken pages to write.
Memorize half a dozen of the quotations, live them through your life - and it “may” change the way you live - forever.

Print: $17.46 Download: $5.98 We all use salt in one form or another – in fact the human body can’t even survive without the stuff. Nowadays in the modern world it’s cheap to buy, all supermarkets stock it, and most people never give much thought to it. This book is an attempt to widen our view of salt. It’s the story of salt, its history, how it’s made, where it comes from, how it’s affected mankind in the past, the vast riches that have been made from it. All this and much more will be revealed. The book is not a learned treatise on the subject, it’s more of a ramble through the world of salt with all sorts of bits and pieces of different information just thrown together. It’s not really intended to be read from cover to cover but to be dipped into, whenever the fancy takes you. This book is a result of my dabbling in the world of salt! All profits from this book will be donated to third world charities,

Download: $4.77 Hardcover Print: $27.24 In 1842 the employment of women and children working underground in the UK was forbidden. As a result of this legislation, many families within the coal industry fell upon hard times. One result of this change in the law, was that coal mine owners started to employ females working at the surface of their mines.
Thus was born the "Pit Brow Lasses" of the North West UK - particularly in the county of Lancashire.
This publication attempts to bring to life those women who toiled at the pit brow (the top of the mine shafts) through articles, press clippings and photographs.
These lasses or women were years ahead of their time, insisting on their right to wear what THEY wanted and to conduct their lives as THEY thought fit and decent.
This publication is a celebration of their independent spirit, their determination to stand up for their rights, to do what THEY wanted to do.
This was quite unique in the Victorian Age in which many of them lived.

Print: $8.15 Download: $3.99 Winter Hill once probably looked exactly the same as the picture on the cover of this book! How do we know? Because we find fossils of this landscape under the surface of Winter Hill and in the surrounding areas.
The area was around 300 million years ago a delta or swamp environment with a tropical climate, and was situated on or around the earths equator.
This book tries to paint a picture of that period through the fossils that we find in the area to give people a real insight into the environment that existed at that time.
The proof of the past can be discovered by anyone who takes the time and trouble to search. The fossils are there - hidden often, hard to discover maybe - but they ARE there.

Ursa Major, often known as "The Plough" is a familiar sight in the night sky to most of us. It's seven major stars can be clearly seen in even the most light polluted environments. Those who live in dark locations can see many more stars ...... but what is also there?

The Sloan Telescope Survey commenced in 2000 and aims to map 25% of the sky, and record observations on about 100 million objects.
This volume illustrates the hidden grandeurs of the Ursa Major Constellation using these images from the Sloan Telescope. To find out more about the Sloan Digital Survey go to: http://www.sdss.org/

Print: $14.34 Download: $3.99 The title says it all! A collection of quotations from all areas of the religious and atheist world to make you think - and to keep you amused.
Although the author is an atheist, he has no problem whatsoever with anyone's religious beliefs. He believes that if a persons religion brings them inner peace, personal satisfaction, or just gives them the "feel good factor", then good luck to them. He also wishes these people well - just as he wishes well to all who gain satisfaction from believing in the Tooth Fairy, Father Christmas or the Golden Gnome at the bottom of the garden.
Be warned - no attempt whatsoever has been made to make this book either "fair" or balanced!
