I am a lifetime pianist/composer who's been playing and writing for over 33 years! Yet only now has the technology arrived to allow me to release my own CDs of the many transformations of jazz/new age music I've been through since recording began in the early 80's. I've always done some songwriting too and if my voice fits the tune I record my own vocals (see: "The Deep Abyss" jazz song below in the den)
CD, AUGUST OCEAN OVERTURE is finally my debut CD but it covers an unusually long run of various styles and production standards, as well as featuring my recent 2005-7 piano work. Disc: $9.95 My 2007 Debut CD was released in 2008 on Amazon, CDbaby and iTunes -- this after over 30 years of keyboard playing and composing! This is a Lulu version to make it available from my JzCDz Storefront here at Lulu. It's 1 track shorter at 13 tracks, almost 70' or a less of jazz/new age keyboard compositions and improvisations. Some tracks are piano solo, but there are several for full band, quartet, 1 vocal song, and some that have string backings. Many have other digital keyboard programs besides piano. The largest piece No.1 titled: Aubade: The Belltower of Deland contains a mix of classical, jazz and rock techniques evoking images of a quiet Sunday in a small Southern town. No.2 & 3 are a November Nocturne mostly for Right Hand patterns. The last piece is titled, "September Song" a country/folk tune similar to George Winston's early pieces, improvisation encouraged. Large note font using Finale Allegro notation. 18 pages.

These two files include a transitional bridge from movement 2 to the next one, and then movement 3 - a Presto march that is short but fast with dissonance. Hard to play but has a catchy almost Tchaikovsky influenced melody in a little more modern style like Bartok.

One of the first 2005 takes for CD "AUGUST OCEAN OVERTURE" - a little dry, so I wanted to add something: what a great tune on a July afternoon session. The piano: true "Keith Jarrett" influenced country-jazz. I kept singing lyrics to the refrain. One night in August I got them down on paper. The next day on vocal track. What is a piano soloist doing singing? I'm a baritone, I did spend 10 years in my church choir dealing with written bass parts -
You'll like the CLASSIC COUNTRY progression and my JAZZY R.H. RUNS. I only had a Shure SM58 mic. and no outboard gear.
THE LYRICS: my English ancestors coming to America in 1649(!) as farmers and fishermen. I had one who fought in the "Battle of Long Island" (you'll hear that)

There are a few poems but most are finely crafted lyrics . These arrangements are in large type including photos on personal and nature themes.
