Bath is a city in Somerset in the south west of England. The city was founded, among surrounding hills, in the valley of the River Avon around naturally occurring hot springs where the Romans built baths and a temple, giving it the name Aquae Sulis. Edgar was crowned king of England at the Bath Abbey in 973. Much later, it became popular as a spa resort during the Georgian era, which led to a major expansion that left a heritage of exemplary Georgian architecture crafted from Bath Stone. The city is a World Heritage Site.

Toledo, Spain was renowned throughout the Middle Ages. This Castile-La Mancha center is a World Heritage site. Toledo was famed for religious tolerance and coexistence of Christian, Jewish and Moorish cultures; known as: La Convivencia. Today's city contains the religious monuments from these 3 faiths. Toledo reached its zenith in the Islamic Caliphate era, as many Muslim scientists of this age were not rivaled in the world. The old city is located on a mountaintop surrounded on three sides by the Tagus river. Many famous people were born or lived in Toledo such as El Greco. It was also the place of important historic events for the Visigothic Councils. Toledo is famed as a world center for the manufacture of swords and steel artifacts. Toledo's Alcázar, at the outbreak of the Spanish Civil war in 1936 became a besieged garrison.

The Baths of Caracalla were Roman public baths built in the city of Rome between AD 212 during the reign of the Emperor Caracalla. The bath complex covered approximately 33 acres. The bath building could hold an estimated 1,600 bathers. It was a leisure center and the 2nd to have a public library within the complex. Like other libraries in Rome there were two separate and equal sized buildings: one for Greek and one for Latin language texts. The baths consisted of a central frigidarium (cold room) under three high vaults, a double pool tepidarium (medium) and a caldarium (hot room) as well as two palaestras (gyms for wrestling and boxing). There was also a swimming pool, roofless with bronze mirrors mounted overhead to direct sunlight into the pool area. The reservoirs on the south wall of the complex were fed with water from the Marcian Aqueduct.

These Roman baths are located in the city of Bath, England. A shrine at the site of these hot springs was built by Celts and was dedicated to the goddess Sulis, whom the Romans identified with Minerva; however, the name Sulis continued to be used after the Roman invasion, leading to the town's Roman name of Aquae Sulis (literally, "the waters of Sulis"). Messages to the Goddess Sulis-Minerva were scratched onto metal, known as curse tablets and have been recovered from the Sacred Spring. These curse tablets were written in Latin, and usually laid curses on people by whom the writer felt they had been wronged. The temple was constructed in 60-70 AD and the bathing complex was gradually built up over the next 300 years.

Montserrat is a mountain near Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain. It's the site of a Benedictine abbey: Santa Maria de Montserrat, a place of pilgrimage which hosts the Virgin of Montserrat sanctuary and which is identified by some with the location of the Holy Grail in Arthurian myth. The Publicacions de l'Abadia de Montserrat is the oldest press in the world with the first book published in 1499. It's still running.
Montserrat means serrated mountain in Catalan. It describes the peculiar aspect of the rock formation, which is visible from a great distance.
During Franco's rule Santa Maria de Montserrat was a place of refuge for scholars, artists, politicians and students. The Basilica houses a museum with works of art by prominent painters and sculptors including works by El Greco, Dalí, Picasso and many more. The abbey can be reached by road, cable car or railway.

8x11 Softcover Edition 112 pages, full color photographs
A stunning collection of Shakespearean Sonnets by poet MICHAEL D. PETTI and nature photography by MINERVA BLOOM; a collaboration that reflects on love and life in its moods and seasons. A stirring verse introduces each season, hinting at the visual and poetic feast that follows, be it a landmark or a subtle, intimate detail:
"Winter's tomb becomes spring's womb and thus the cycle of life is renewed and recreated."
The script of each year is one of change, but that change composed of each season's chapter, is reliable and knowable. What we believe we may lose in summer, we also believe we will find once more. In each autumn leaf that turns, in each winter snowflake's crystal, in each spring's thaw: Upon each of our hearts, each season writes its magic...
