Introduction: There are many moments that we often pass by and take for granted. They vanish while our busy minds ruminate endlessly. All the while we miss what is right in front of us which is the present moment. Our duty should be to inhabit this precise second of existence. To this end the ancient art of haiku is ‘Zen’ for it takes these tangible concrete moments of time and crystallizes their essence in as few words as possible. The haijin (haiku poet) is thus constrained to relay a significant event in few syllables. Haiga is still a young art in the West but the principles established in Japan offer a good background for experimentation and development. When haiku are embedded in an art piece it is called haiga. In modern haiga the image and the haiku poem are coupled with a 'haiku-moment'. This haiku moment is described as a moment of transcendence. All original bilingual haiga by Minerva Bloom.

Each month is represented by an Organic Abstract Photograph: an artistic composition focusing on elements such as colors, lines, textures and shapes that may be found while observing nature at close range. Such as the unique patterns of tree bark, lichen on rock, organic debris or flotsam, shells and sand, fallen tree trunks and more. Each photograph has a brief description of the scene.

Print: $22.99 Download: $5.00 SEASONS & SONNETS ART AND POETRY
8x11 Softcover Edition 112 pages, full color photographs
A stunning collection of Shakespearean Sonnets by poet MICHAEL D. PETTI and nature photography by MINERVA BLOOM; a collaboration that reflects on love and life in its moods and seasons.
A stirring verse introduces each season, hinting at the visual and poetic feast that follows, be it a landmark or a subtle, intimate detail:
"Winter's tomb becomes spring's womb and thus the cycle of life is renewed and recreated."
The script of each year is one of change, but that change composed of each season's chapter, is reliable and knowable. What we believe we may lose in summer, we also believe we will find once more. In each autumn leaf that turns, in each winter snowflake's crystal, in each spring's thaw.
Upon each of our hearts, each season writes its magic...
