I am a Yorkshire born writer living in Lancashire, Northern England. My combination of Sun and Rising Sign is described by Teri King as "A mind like a grasshopper and a heart like ice. Working for her is like signing over your soul to a lunatic. The best a husband can hope for is a quick divorce. Children will wish they had no such mother." Score so far: husbands four, children two. Grandchildren ask: who is the mad lady in the hat/african robes/straw-covered dungarees (strike out which does not apply). Born in 1941, I have worked as librarian and secretary before training and working as a Head Chef. Moving to Pendle in 1982 changed my life, but as I found out later coincided with major astrological developments. I became a full time writer and poet, did standup performance poetry around Manchester, and sitdown performance poetry in a jacuzzi. I kept falling over witches, thought fate must be telling me something, and joined them. I studied astrology, tarot and organic gardening. I am now into African drumming and website design. Whew! What next?

This is an alternative to my regular Planting by the Moon Calendar. It is aimed at those who are familiar with the method, and want the information in a no-frills form. Even so, this could be used by a complete novice as all the necessary information is contained on each of the calendar pages. There are two facing pages for each month, one has the planting dates, with rules for planting and an explanation of the four types of crop, how to identify them and when to plant them. The other has a graph of the moon's daily progress through the signs with New, Full and Quarter Moons marked. Eclipses, solstices and equinoxes are also marked, as well as notable sky events and moonrise each day. Click the 'preview' button to see sample pages. At the end of the book is a table of moonrise and moonset times for each day of the year. Please note that the calendar is printed in landscape format and is intended to be used that way. A hole can be punched, enabling it to be hung on a wall for easy reference. Enjoy!

Any practising witch or pagan would love to get their hands on this calendar! It is a storehouse of information which will enrich and enhance your magic-making, and deepen and broaden your skills and knowledge. All the information you could ever want about the Moon and planets is here - their movements, where they are on any given date, what type of magic is suitable. On the calendar pages the Moon's progress through the signs is charted, together with New, Full and Quarter Moons and Eclipses, dates and times of solstices and equinoxes and dates of the major festivals. There are short notes on the calendar pages, and the facing pages have Astral Tides for each month - I go into the astrological chart for each full moon, tell you what it means and the type of magic you would be best performing - what to encourage and what to avoid, as well as any other notable events that month. The rest of the facing page has "Goddess of the Month" - various goddesses from around the world with their stories and symbolism.
