It is a book about finding the Light within, finding your true path, confronting evil with the Truth, and the way true love is often seen in sacrifice. The dragons are a metaphor for the higher self/spirit and the power of God within. The general story follows a "girl finds dragon" model to start to put the child in the experience of finding, and owning, a dragon.
