Print: $18.95 Download: $12.95 "Melissa's Dragon" is much more than a children's book. It is a book about finding the Light within, finding your true path, confronting evil with the Truth, and the way true love is often seen in sacrifice. The dragons are a metaphor for the higher self/spirit and the power of God within. The book is designed so that kids (along with having a great time reading the story) also come to understand something about their own personal power, creativity, the nature of the universe, and their ability to resist evil (in all its forms) when faced with it through the shield and the sword of Truth. The general story follows a "girl finds dragon" model to start to put the child in the experience of finding, and owning, a dragon. Then the book derails into new territory, with time travel, a trip to dragon court, and leaping beyond the void to The River of Life. The inscription of the book says: "Read this to a child to know why it was made." It's in the laughter of a child that "Melissa's Dragon" really finds its life.
