TIP OF THE MONTH:
WISDOM
Wisdom is a way of life; where courage and confidentiality prevail. It does not allow someone to sidestep an uncomfortable situation or expect applause or admiration. Wise people usually do not become frantic about his or her upheavals. They are flexible under the most outrageous circumstances. Yes, they may feel bewildered by life’s disappointments or a unforeseen tragedy, but they usually keep their wits about them.
Wise people know they are responsible for their own lives. They do not blame others for their hardships. They practice clarity. They balance their lives with love and kindness.
They are good listeners. Best yet, they always react to someone else’s opinion with respect. They do not waste time looking for sunshine on a rainy day. They reflect sunshine—their glow shines from within.
A wise person serendipitously travels on that path of the unexpected. They live in the relationship of knowing they are a teacher and a pupil. Can you evolve to be a wise person? Sure, by following a few simple rules anyone can become a wise person.1. manage your actions to the best of your ability, 2. Question the tenets of your foundation, 3. Concentrate on the colors of the rainbow, smell the air , or focus on the hieght of the sky, 6. Have the gumption to use your voice , even when you feel fearful, There are many styles at delivering the truth, and yours is important, and 7 establish what is worth fighting for before you jump into the ring.

Download: $5.00 THE FLOWER
The sun wraps a halo
Around the frailness of your face
Your smile frames your spirit
How lucky I feel
To be part of your life
To share in your wonder
On this beautiful day,
We are together
That is all that matters
Tomorrow ... let it be done
We have today
Suddenly, you pick a flower
As you reach for the flower,
It bows to your will
Knowing you will honor
Its beauty as long as it lasts

Download: $5.00 KITTY
Kitty lies upon my bed
She doesn’t move too much
And time has made her body a shadow
Of what it used to be
Through the months,
I watch her spirit disappear and come back with every snore
When she’s awake, she doesn’t say too much
Sadly, she no longer greets me at the door
Today... she passed away
I cried
I miss her so
It’s hard to live without her quiet promises
And hear her sweet “hello”
If she were with me,
I know what she would say.
“Stop making such a fuss.
Life alters all our lives.
Be grateful we had us.”

Download: $5.00 THE INVITATION
You tell me you have
Already made up you mind
I ask
How can you be so unkind?
I feel like a flower
Among your thorns
Sometimes I wish
Our love had never been born
At the doorstep,
I give you a reason
To reassess
It’s time
We square away our mess
Change our strategy
Have some fun
Listen to me
Obstacles
Are here to stay
Involve yourself in us today
Let’s
Sigh and hug
There now...
Caring is a symbol of our love.

Download: $5.00 INDIVIDUALITY
Ask your spirit... how to breathe
In the fullness of the day
How to have the courage
To belong to yourself
How to break from the foolish
How to find equanimity
Do not think this is idealistic
Or a hopeless quest
Beneath life’s changes
See the passing flux
With a determination and mindful eye
For it is through one’s vision,
The wise becomes separate
Yet bonds with the group
It is then the spirit connects
Itself to joy and offers
An infinite energy
Where humanity’s blessing live.

Download: $5.00 IN THE GARDEN
Beyond the garden’s eyes lies a sleepy dawn
I lay awake and wonder
How will I see an opening
After you and our love have gone?
Will it ever be possible
For me to capture the brilliant light?
Smell the flowers?
Touch a budding heart?
I take a step
Into the summer’s warm untroubled air
Behind my weakness a summons calls
To join life’s mystery with a flair
Amazingly I feel…
I’m ready to strike my spirit’s fire
The beauty in the garden
Has settled a wantonness in me.© Doris Ann Bridgehouse

Download: $5.00 PERHAPS A CHANCE
In the store window,
I see your reflection
I hurry to confirm
My heart skips a beat
My head spins
Pronouncing how much
I have missed
You drop your package
To your surprise,
I retrieve it
Accidently, our hands touch
Your eyes mirror my soul
I blush knowing you still care
A heavy silence
Covers our unspoken words
We smile, nod good-by,
And walk in opposite directions
Leaving no margin for error
Like two well oiled machines.

Download: $5.00 CROSSING BRIDGES
I’ve crossed bridges before
But nothing like this awkward ethereal place
I’ll have to fill in the blanks
Come from a different position
Examine the common ground,
Appreciate life’s unfamiliar nudges,
And
Listen to the tranquil voices
Of powerful godsends.
