NV Torres is a Puerto Rican Poet and Artist. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she has been writing poetry since the age of eleven. Even at that tender age, she understood the power of feelings and how to connect them with words. Her very first poem was a love poem for her best friend. She has been writing ever since... However, Ms. Torres' first love was creating artwork, which she has been doing since early childhood. She has explored and expressed her creativity through various mediums such as Paint, Graphic Art, Photography, and Fashion. Currently, Ms. Torres is working on several projects: a small collection of erotic poetry to be released in 2008; her first novel - a story about the distance of love (still in its early stages); and her second full collection of poetry, which she hopes to publish in 2009. NV is also collaborating with several local artist on various projects. Among other things, her future goals are to expand her independent publishing company, Goodbye Publishing, to new writers, and launch an online magazine combining the two things she loves most, Poetry and Art.

"…Poetry, to me, is a river that leads to all insecurities, unanswered questions, complex emotions and lessons learned. It is your laughter and your cries; your limitations and your strengths. Poetry is never dishonest. It validates every single feeling we, as beings, sense...Poetry is a cycle; a healer and a gift that spreads its seeds from soul to soul, never ending its duty to awaken and stimulate the spirit." The first collection of poetry by first time author, N.V. Torres, "I Know All The Right Things To Say" is testament to what makes us human. It is the painful/sweet love story, the rude reality of growing up, the injustice in the world, and the constant doubt and insecurities that we wear on our sleeves.
