Only to her shock that wasn’t going to be necessary. When she arrived at the hospital it her father was weak following surgery, asking her to make his last run. How could she refuse when it might be the last request he ever made of her? The problem was, she couldn’t ride.
It seemed her parents had that all figured out. She was supposed to make that trip to Daytona Bike Week on the back of her father’s bike with their good friend Tim MacFearson. This was not a trip she wanted to make, but felt she had no choice.
She only prayed she could get through in spite of her instant dislike of this leather-clad biker.

My name is Pam Garlick, and I'm a writer. Of course, becoming a writer doesn't usually happen overnight. No, it takes time; and what I call the Three P's: Practice, Patience, and Perseverance. I'll try to explain how it happened for me.
You see, I always was a bit of a dreamer; however, it wasn't until my teens that I actually started to write. I will admit, some of the things I wrote created quite a stir as I was going through that difficult stage parents dread. But once I got my hormones and my imagination under control, I was able to come up with some pretty likeable characters.
Unfortunately, I learned quickly that liking to write doesn't automatically mean one will get published. That took years of painful practice as I honed my skill.
Finally in 1988 I was published, first with articles in trade publications and local newspapers, and eventually in the confession market, with 200+ stories published in this market.
Ah, but I still have a world of characters passing through my mind on any given day. They have encountered pain and heartache, and also been rewarded with love and great joy. These characters have filled many pages in novel-length stories. Some of these are published here at LuLu and listed on this page.
I look forward to hearing from you with your comments and suggestions.
I'd also like to share a little about my inspirations. I'm blessed to be the grandmother of three beautiful little girls and one handsome boy. Though I currently don't write children's stories, I do want to write things that I can be proud to someday show to my grandchildren. Because of that, and my faith, much of what I write is inspirational in nature.
Then, there's my husband Ken, a man who has made my life more complete than I ever thought it could be. He is the person who stands by me no matter how much time lapse there may be between paychecks. He is also my number one fan.
Our combined family is comprised of five children with spouses who all help keep our family interesting. For us there is much truth to the saying there is never a dull moment. Some our family lives close to home, others thousands of miles away, with a few somewhere in between. It makes getting together as a family a challenge, but it's worth it.
Often it is the travel to visit these many family members that helps spark my creative juices. It has certainly provided many locations for future plots.
