Dave McKae Number: 35 Position: RHP Bats: Right Throws: Right Height: 6'2" Weight: 190 Date of Birth: November 24, 1981 Resides: Danville, CA College: UC Davis Experience: McKae attended the University of California, Davis where he earned his degree in Economics. He threw the first nine-inning no-hitter in school history in 2003 in the NCAA Division II West Region vs. Fort Hays State. He earned first team All-Conference honors both junior and senior seasons. McKae was originally signed by the Giants as non-drafted free agent in 2005, and just completed his 5th professional season with the Boston Red Sox organization. He was Invited to play for Team Canada in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China. He also played for the Tigres de Aragua of the Venezuelan Winter League in 2008. McKae helped the San Jose Giants to a California League Championship in 2007, going 5-1 with a 1.93 ERA before a mid-season promotion to Double-A. He was invited to be a presenter at the 2010 Baseball Team Medicine Conference at AT&T Park in San Francisco and is a Master Instructor at The Pitching Center (www.thepitchingcenter.com) in Pleasanton, CA. He graduated from Cupertino (CA) High School...attended De Anza (Cupertino, CA) Community College and the University of San Francisco...represented the Giants in the 2006 Futures Game, as a member of the U.S. squad during All-Star Game festivities in Pittsburgh...named How SportsData's California League Pitcher of the Week for May 1-7...named to California League In Season All-Star team in 2006. In 2006, Pereira split the season between San Jose and Fresno. In San Jose he went 7-1 with a 2.06 ERA in 13 starts, walking just 16 and striking out 76 batters. Nick played two of his five professional seasons at the AAA level before retiring in 2009.
