“Climbing” is a metaphor for the repeated steps of exercise and experiments that paved the road up to a personal next level of digital imaging. Composing an inspiring catalogue, it proved a rewarding thought to use images of stairs to make this booklet more than just another series of snapshots, which is often a pitfall for such publications. The stairs became a catalyser for a page exceeding fusion of different images. The way images reacted on each other and integrated with connecting backgrounds added a whole new dimension to the project and compensates for the reduced scale of the images. The more than 150 images used for this publication are designed to be printed on media dimensioned up to one by one meter. Compressed they do not show their decorative power to the full advantage. It was a very pleasant surprise that, resized in combination, many of them show other qualities.

Deze businessroman is deel twee van de Regenboogjager cyclus. In dit deel gaat de hoofdpersoon op zoek naar formules om samenwerkingsverbanden doelgericht en resultaatverzekerd vorm te geven. Een productontwikkelings project dat uit het slop moet worden gehaald is de aan de praktijk ontleende case waarbinnen de formules tot stand komen en worden uitgeprobeerd. Enkele andere verhaallijnen, aansluitend bij het meer levensbeschouwelijke eerste deel van de trilogie, belichten specifieke aspecten van samenwerken. De meeste verhalen zijn separaat leesbaar. Zij vormen echter een geheel omdat ze gebonden zijn aan een mens die ervan overtuigd is dat ‘kiezen en gekozen worden’ de basis vormen voor persoonlijk en zakelijk succes. Dat rastert zijn visie op kennis, imago, waarde, macht en vrijheid. Het delen en toepassen van deze visie resulteert in verrassende inzichten en opmerkelijke resultaten.

The paradoxical imperative is a mind cruise that takes us back to the roots of mankind. History is used to create awareness of the situation we are in today. It is suggested that humans are appointed to be the estate managers of the planet earth during the creators day off. They developed sophisticated systems like ratio and emotion. Based on evolutionary drives it is also defendable that they share the intention to take good care of themselves and each other. The question however arises whether we are doing a good job? Are we taking good care of ourselves AND of each other? But what is good care? Who is each other?

Color, forms, composition and mediumstructure are the issues I play with to get something expressed that is hardly or impossible to express otherwise. The experiments are pure fun. Experiencing the wanted ethical or aesthetical effect on the spectator is the premium and the proof that the experiment is also successful.
