www.rajadeekshithar.com www.sphinxofindia.rajadeekshithar.com My name is Raja. I am a Deekshithar. Rooted in the traditions of the temple of the Dancing Shiva in Chidambaram, India. I was educated at one of India’s renowned universities and hold degrees in English Literature and Sociology. I am a priest as well as an academic. As an academic I am a researcher and author. From the tradition and my masters I acquired knowledge of spiritual practice and meditation. The wisdom and knowledge I learned from my masters I have shaped into various forms for the benefit of today's world. I feel it is my mission to be a bridge between East and West. When I was a young priest with an academic education many question about the nature, background, meaning and historical development of my heritage occurred in my mind. My investigations and questioning led me to undertake many research projects. Some of which led to significant findings. One of my most significant research projects is the discovery of the Sphinx of India. My ambition and longing was and is to convey and share ancient traditional knowledge with the world. I have presented some of this material in publications. One of these publications is now available through Lulu. In the second and revised English edition, and in a French translation. For more than twenty years I have been travelling between India and the West. To meet people and share with them the ancient treasures and wisdom from my culture and tradition. My whole life I have been looking for the meaning behind the symbolism of the rituals, the architecture, and the iconography. And I met with so many people who were carrying unanswered questions on their journey. From this experience I wrote “The Hidden Treasure in the City of Ether”. The proceed of the sales of these books will go towards supporting my research. “The Hidden Treasure in the City of Ether” is the result of my enduring enquiry and my undeviating looking for the meaning behind the outward appearance of shape or performance. Travelling between two cultures, communicating with people from all over the world, spurred me on on this path of discovery and led me to sharing my findings in the form of this book. |
