I chose the romance genre because it's make believe, fantasy, 'A Calgon Moment'. Writing a love story between a heroine and hero is just plain fun, not to mention, challenging and satisfying. My mission is to entertain. And when the last page is read, I hope my readers sit back for a moment filled with plain, old fashioned contentment.

When a bloody scarecrow, a mannequin with it's fake eyes gouged out, start popping up in local businesses around Haden, Montana, Sheriff Nick McCall knows this is much more sinister than kids playing pranks. Each break-in is followed by an anonymous, cryptic note slipped under the door of the local newspaper. Under the cover of darkness a resident of Haden moves about, breaking into businesses and leaving his dirty work. Nick doesn't understand why the new owner of the Haden News, Roxanne Black, is the target of the anonymous notes. Another reporter in his past discovered a fatal mistake he had made. Reporters are on Nick's list, but he has a hard time fighting his attraction for Roxanne. As the perpetrator continues to elude Nick, send fear skittering down the spines of Haden residents, Nick and Roxanne struggle to figure out the meaning behind the cryptic notes and bizarre break-ins.
